synopsis

Mal Ericson, drummer for the world famous rock band Stage Dive, needs to clean up his image fast – at least for a little while. Having a good girl on his arm should do the job just fine. But he didn’t count on exactly how much fun he could have being with the one right girl.

Anne Rollins has money problems. Big ones. But being paid to play the pretend girlfriend to a demented drummer was never going to be a good idea. No matter how hot he is. She’s had her sights set on her male bestie, Reece, for years. And now that she’s supposedly taken, he’s finally paying attention. If only the chemistry between her and her rock star would stop hitting new heights.

review

Have you ever one of those books that just puts a smile on your dial, because you’re reading it. Play by Kylie Scott was it for me. In the second book of series the Stage Dive band are back with drummer Mal Ericson taking the forefront in this narrative with his relationship with Anne. If there was any ever doubt that the creative mind of Kylie Scott had no limits it has been demolished. Play was fun, upbeat and I can say I read it one sitting. One. Sitting. That’s how amazing it was. Once I began from the sex-alicious front cover to the acknowledgments at the back, I was captured, caught and immersed in the Stage Dive world again.

Kylie yet again was able to provide a rock star romance to the extent of greatness. Mal, I think is a guy who always gets what he wants but through the portrayal in the novel we really get to see him struggle. I love Anne; she is just so strong and such a great match for Mal. The quirky takes, the jealous best friend and the chemistry between Mal and Anne is U.N.D.E.N.I.A.B.L.E. It is raw with feelings and heart but also with the lust and fall over your feet and smile jazz that I love about Kylie Scott.

Sweet, mamma jammer this was such an amazing read and my favourite quote throughout the novel was probably.

“Life’s a Song, Anne. Let’s Play.” – Mal (Play)

With raw sexual tension, explosive chemistry and a bunch of challenges that included punches, proposals, and passion. It was such an amazing read. Play by Kylie Scott is in my TOP 10, Books of 2014. With so much passion, and the good loving sense of humor and love I couldn’t go past giving this a 5 Lit Love, David still owns my heart but Mal definitely came swooping in.
