TEASER
Id taken half the day off work to spend the afternoon with Madison, but standing here watching her flick through paint chips made me wonder if I should have just let her come on her own.  She had six different ones and couldnt decide which one she liked best.  Wed been standing in this hardware aisle, going back and forth over the colours for the past hour.  Id almost had enough but I was sure that she could spend all fucking day doing this.
Baby, do you think you can narrow it down some more?  Like to say, one?” I asked.
She scowled at me.  I knew you shouldnt have come with me.  You have absolutely no patience.
I have a lot of patience, but youve been trying to decide between these for an hour now.
Well, I want to get it right, J,” she muttered, throwing me a dirty look.
Okay, how about this; if you pick one and hate it after weve painted, we can always paint it again.
Her eyes widened.  Really?  You wouldnt mind?
No.  So lets pick one and get out of here.
A pained look appeared on her face.  I really like two of them.”  She held up two and showed me.  Which one do you like?
I grabbed them out of her hand and inspected them.  This one,” I said, holding up the one I preferred.  Fuck, why did women take so long to choose?  I did it in three seconds flat.
She snatched them back out of my grasp, shaking her head.  You didnt even look at them, J.
I did, babe.  Its not fucking rocket science.
She gave me a pointed look.  You have no idea.
I blew out a breath.  Im going to go outside and wait for you in the car.  You reckon you can be done in five minutes?
Ill be as long as it takes.  And you wont complain if you want more of what I gave you this morning.
Christ, she had me by the fucking balls.  Shed given me the best goddamn head job this morning and I fucking needed more of that shit.  Ill be in the car, but hurry the fuck up because now all I can think of is your mouth and my cock.”  I leaned into her and promised, Ill blow your fucking mind when we get home if youre done in five minutes.
As I pulled away from her, she curled her hand around my neck to bring me back to her, and murmured, Baby, you always blow my mind, so theres no need for me to hurry.
I shook my head.  Fuck, were gonna be here for another hour, arent we?
She held up a paint chip.  This one, J.  And Im not doing any of the work when you blow my mind.  This ones all on you.
I grabbed the chip out of her hand and headed towards the paint counter.  My cock was so hard right now and I figured I could have her under me within fifteen minutes if the dude at the counter hurried his shit up.

 LATE CALL (Call, #1)

Author: Emma Hart

Genre: Erotic Romance

Release Date: April 28th, 2014

BLURB:

She’s a high class call girl. He’s taking over his father’s business.

Seven years ago, they fell in love in Paris.

They walked away at the end of the summer, never imagining they’d meet again.

Now he’s her client.

We fell in love the way you jump from a cliff. Hard and fast with a reckless sense of abandon. The six weeks we spent together changed my life, but at seventeen, I was naive. I was a dreamer. A believer.

Now I’m twenty-four and cynical. I don’t believe in love. There’s no place for such emotions as a high class escort. The only things I’m allowed to feel are physical – and that’s why it’s so damn hard when the client of a last minute job turns out to be the man I left in France seven years ago. When he buys me for six weeks at triple my rate, my agent makes it clear I have no choice but to take the job despite our previous relationship. And my heart makes it very clear I have to stay firmly on top of the cliff this time.

Because for six weeks, I once again belong to Aaron Stone.

REVIEW

Sweet Heaven on Earth. I still think I have a book hanger from reading Late Call by Emma Hart. Sexy, lavishing, emotional and undeniably HOT are only a few words to describe the roller coaster of fun I had whilst reading Late Call. Paying her dues and being a call girl is all Dayton has known. It’s her job and how she survives. She becomes two separate people. Which I believe created such a unique tale. I absolutely loved the narrative from very first word. Emma creates a world where Dayton (call girl name- Mia) is asked to a job where she reconciles with an old love and flame Aaron. Oh and it’s a sweet ride of the line between staying professional and falling head over heals again for the guy who captured your heart once before.

I love love love… oh and wait loved it. The inner workings of creating two dynamic characters with love and an undeniably hot connection really showed whilst reading. Aaron is all alpha-male, which I loved. His charm, his whit and his personality just made me fall for him instantly. The bond that Dayton and Aaron share it electrifying and the book does have a cliffhanger that will make you want to throw your device out the window. I swear by it.

“True love is never letting go, despite all the odds being against you. I never let go.”

Emma delivers a fun, sexy, passionate story about the life of a call girl and how sometimes luck draws you into things that you can’t control. I absolutely loved the chemistry and relationship as Emma explores more than just a relationship but the raw emotion that comes with a second chance at love. It was a BEYOND rating for me, and all I can say is it gave me a monster of book hang-overs.

Exclusive Excerpt

“What kind of books do you want to write?” Ford asked, turning his attention back to his plate.

The question brought her back to reality. “Romance.”

“Ah, fairytales.”

At her narrowed eyes, he said, “I’m not judging. All writers, myself included, create whole worlds to give people a reprieve from their real lives. That’s what I do, too.”

Andi laughed but there was no joy in the sound. It was exactly how she felt about the kind of books she wanted to write and something Peter never understood.

Interestingly, Ford’s words meant he didn’t believe in real love—that he considered the beautifully written romantic plotlines in his own books ‘fairytales’. “I don’t buy it. You can’t write books like yours and not believe in love, at least to some extent.”

Ford’s mouth tightened. He ran a hand through his hair. “Why?”

“Because there’s hope in love.” She met his gaze. “And a world without hope is a sad one. If you truly feel what you say, you want to leave people with the feeling that good exists and that love, no matter how impossible, is possible. If love is such a lie, I can’t see you selling it like you do.”

Ford’s eyes flashed. “I believe people leave you when you need them most in life. I believe real love is something people tell themselves exists because it makes the world a better place to live in. When love fails, and it always does, people make excuses. He wasn’t the one. She was too critical, bossy, fat…whatever.”

Andi frowned. “So why write romance into your books at all? If you don’t buy into the notion it’s real?”

Ford smiled but his eyes softened, something sad lingering in his gaze. “Because there’s nothing wrong with giving false hope. Even if true love is a lie, it makes life easier to swallow. And that’s what’s important—finding a way to get through the rough parts. Love is the Achilles heel of man. It’s something we can’t help pursuing even if it ends in heartache, even if it is an endless pursuit of happiness. Shakespeare, Jane Austen—they got it.”

Andi sat in silence. The sadness in his eyes shot clear through her heart like an arrow, and her mind raced through his books, trying to piece together what she was missing, what piece of heartbreak had been embedded between the pages that explained the way he felt now.

“You think I’m wrong?” he asked, breaking through her thoughts.

She wanted to argue with him, to come up with a line that would disprove everything he had just said about love, but she had none, so she said what she felt instead. “I think a world without true love is a world without hope, one I don’t want to be a part of. So, I choose to believe, whether it’s real or not.”

She saw it. The flash in his eyes, a glimmer of something unexplained as his molten gaze met hers, pinning her to her seat. She caught her breath, unable to look away, the blood humming in her veins. In that moment, nothing and no one else existed. It was just him and her and the intimate conversation between them.

He placed his hand over hers and leaned into the table. “Andi?” he whispered.

Heart knocking against her ribs, her eyes flickered to his mouth and the hard contours of his jaw. He had shared so much of himself with her. This broken, brilliant man. Maybe all he needed was a little hope?

He reached out, cupping the side of her face. She’d never wanted anything as much as she wanted to kiss him in that moment. The warmth of his palm burned through her skin, and the feel of him exploded all thought, scattering it to the far corners of her mind. She curled her fingers around his and leaned closer. She could hear the soft sound of his breathing.

All she had to do was close her eyes. Move just a bit closer…

*BOOK REVIEW* Play – Kylie Scott

PLAY

synopsis

Mal Ericson, drummer for the world famous rock band Stage Dive, needs to clean up his image fast – at least for a little while. Having a good girl on his arm should do the job just fine. But he didn’t count on exactly how much fun he could have being with the one right girl.

Anne Rollins has money problems. Big ones. But being paid to play the pretend girlfriend to a demented drummer was never going to be a good idea. No matter how hot he is. She’s had her sights set on her male bestie, Reece, for years. And now that she’s supposedly taken, he’s finally paying attention. If only the chemistry between her and her rock star would stop hitting new heights.

review

Have you ever one of those books that just puts a smile on your dial, because you’re reading it. Play by Kylie Scott was it for me. In the second book of series the Stage Dive band are back with drummer Mal Ericson taking the forefront in this narrative with his relationship with Anne. If there was any ever doubt that the creative mind of Kylie Scott had no limits it has been demolished. Play was fun, upbeat and I can say I read it one sitting. One. Sitting. That’s how amazing it was. Once I began from the sex-alicious front cover to the acknowledgments at the back, I was captured, caught and immersed in the Stage Dive world again.

Kylie yet again was able to provide a rock star romance to the extent of greatness. Mal, I think is a guy who always gets what he wants but through the portrayal in the novel we really get to see him struggle. I love Anne; she is just so strong and such a great match for Mal. The quirky takes, the jealous best friend and the chemistry between Mal and Anne is U.N.D.E.N.I.A.B.L.E. It is raw with feelings and heart but also with the lust and fall over your feet and smile jazz that I love about Kylie Scott.

Sweet, mamma jammer this was such an amazing read and my favourite quote throughout the novel was probably.

“Life’s a Song, Anne. Let’s Play.” – Mal (Play)

With raw sexual tension, explosive chemistry and a bunch of challenges that included punches, proposals, and passion. It was such an amazing read. Play by Kylie Scott is in my TOP 10, Books of 2014. With so much passion, and the good loving sense of humor and love I couldn’t go past giving this a 5 Lit Love, David still owns my heart but Mal definitely came swooping in.

*BOOK REVIEW* Broken Dreams by Kelly Elliott

SYNOPSIS:

Will Reed end up being the Prince Charming Courtney has dreamed of her entire life? Is Courtney the woman who will help Reed move past the guilt and anger, so he can embrace love?
Can their broken dreams become their happily ever after?

REVIEW:

Swoooon! Dear God, Kelly Elliott’s newly released book Broken Dreams I swear I could read a million, billion and trillion times. Broken Dreams is book 2 in the Broken Series and this book is focused on Courtney and Reed. OMG. Reed. I can’t express how much this book makes me happy. As a reader, I love finding books that will stick with me and will show so much love and happiness. Let’s get something straight, REED has out-swooned Gunner (Wanted Series) in my opinion and I love Gunner to death.

So enough of me gushing like a five year girl who just got a new Barbie doll. I absolutely loved how Courtney and Reed interact. Reed I tell you is the biggest swooner. If there are any Reeds out there please stand forward and let me know. Not only does Reed support and love Courtney as the build a relationship but he is just such an amazing character and a credit to the magnificent Kelly Elliott in that she has created characters with so much heart. Courtney’s past plays an important role in the narrative and I think my heart broke about a million times when she was sad and crying. Have no fear though, Reed is the best and his support is just amazing. Reed exemplifies the “book boyfriend status” to oblivion. I believe in such a heartfelt book, that the characters really did strive to be each others heart and soul. SWOON your heart out is all I can say. If I could recommend any book in the world for you to read it is Broken Dreams and actually any of Kelly Elliott’s books.

You all know what my rating is going to be because I can’t stop smiling like a mother after she has given birth. (giving you all some great metaphors today I know ha-ha) I rated ‘Broken Dreams’ a BEYOND rating, because it is captures an uncanny heart ship of romance, heart, soul and is just plain SWOON worthy. I didn’t give too much away here because you need to read it.

*BLOG HOP* The Problem with Crazy- Lauren K. McKellar

BLURB
The problem with crazy is that crazy, by itself, has no context. It can be good crazy, bad crazy . . . or crazy crazy—like it was when my ex-boyfriend sung about me on the radio.

Eighteen-year-old Kate couldn’t be more excited about finishing high school and spending the summer on tour with her boyfriend’s band. Her dad showing up drunk at graduation, however, is not exactly kicking things off on the right foot—and that’s before she finds out about his mystery illness, certain to end in death.

A mystery illness she is likely to inherit.

When your whole life goes from adventure and ecstasy to sad and suicidal, what’s the point? Not knowing who to love, and who to trust . . . where does it end?

The Problem With Crazy is a story about love and life; about overcoming obstacles, choosing to trust, and learning how to make the choices that will change your life forever.

Why I Self-Published?

I am happy to officially be a hybrid author. My first book, Finding Home, was released through Escape Publishing, Harlequin Australia’s digital-only imprint in October 2013, and I was absolutely over the moon. Someone who wasn’t my mum thought my book was good? It was fist pumps and high-fives all round!

However, when I wrote The Problem With Crazy, I decided to self-publish. I made this decision for a couple of main reasons.

  1. This story is centred on a family coming to terms with a serious illness: Huntington’s disease. It was really important to me to be able to donate to a charity that supported this illness so I could feel like as well as raising awareness, the book was actually doing some good, in its own little way. I just wasn’t sure a major publisher would allow that.
  2. This book was/is my baby. I slaved over it for a solid two years, and put so much sweat, tears and even a little blood (that time I broke a wine glass during editing) into it. I wanted full creative control, and if a publisher had asked me to do something to change a major component, I would have cried.
Or, worse yet: if a publisher didn’t want it. Being so close to this book, I don’t know how I would have handled the rejection.
  3. I like trying new things [insert saucy wink here]. Seriously, I think the publishing market is a very different place today to what it was even just two years ago, and self-publishing is a very popular option. As a freelance editor for a lot of indie authors, I wanted to give the self-pub route a try. So many of my friends were doing it; why couldn’t I give it a go?

Will I submit my next book to some publishers? Most likely. Will I ever self-publish again? Abso-freaking-lutely.

EXCERPT:

I’m going to have a baby,” Ivy declares as she stops directly in front of me. Well, her belly stopped directly in front of me, the rest of her soon follows.

Yes, indeed, my wife is definitely going to have a baby. Soon.

I’m getting ready—staring at the mirror as I mess with my tie, making sure it’s perfect—when she approaches me. I shoot her a grin, feeling good, feeling on top of my game. Life couldn’t get any better, you know? We’re celebrating today and with good reason.

“I know, sexy mama.” I turn away from the mirror and wink at her. “Trust me, I haven’t forgotten that I’m the one who knocked you up.”

She stares at me, no reaction to my wink or my words. She usually slaps my ass and kisses me. Says something sarcastic at the very least. But I’m getting nothing. And it’s kind of disconcerting. “Archer. I’m dead serious. I’m going to have the baby.”

“I know, babe. And I can’t freaking wait.” I study her, noticing that she looks a little pale and her pupils are dilated. Hmm. “You feeling okay?”

Rolling her eyes, she rests her hand on top of her protruding stomach, rubbing it absently. Then not so absently. As in, she’s clutching her belly like she’s in pain. “I’m in—” She sucks in a harsh breath, holding it for a few seconds. “—labor, damn it.”

I barely acknowledged Weston’s question, holding the cover of my book just high enough for him to see.
He nodded, waiting for me to speak. When I didn’t, he offered a small smile, and began to sit back. “What are you reading?” I asked.
Weston immediately leaned toward me, sharing his cover the way I had.
“Piers Anthony?” Weston cleared his throat to stifle a cough, and then smiled. “I like his stuff.”
I nodded. “I approve.”
“Good,” Weston whispered. “I was worried.” After a short pause, he leaned into my ear again. “Why don’t you ever talk to me in Art class?”
We had Art together in seventh period, the class I looked forward to all day. Weston was in there, but more importantly, people like the Erins and Brady weren’t. We were serious about our work, and it was the one place during the school day that I could be myself.
“I guess I was just busy.”
“Are you going to be busy today?”
“Probably.”
“Well, maybe I’ll get lucky and you’ll take a break.” I turned around to hide my grin, but not before glancing back and seeing the familiar look of hatred in Alder’s eyes.
Whore, she mouthed, glaring at me.
