-LUCY-

There is a love so fierce it cannot be measured.
A heart so strong it will never slow.
There is a promise so sure it can never lie.
He promised me that love forever.
Even when it wasn’t enough.

-CAMERON-

Forever. Everlasting. Eternal.
There is no measure of time.
No sounds of the ticking of a clock.
Just the rising and falling of the sun.
And our own sense of forever.

But our forever isn’t always.

~REVIEW~

I have rewritten my review numerous times, without feeling like I have done More Than Forever justice in the words of my own thoughts. The outskirts that front every bleeding and worshiping cell that courses through this ever romantic heart of mine doesn’t do the novel justice. More Than Forever takes raw refined pure love to a whole new level. I couldn’t control the tears, the fast heart rate that preluded me to read More Than Forever in one sitting because my hand broke with no moment that was etching for me to stop reading and flipping to the next page.

More Than Forever is the fourth book in the More Series and it’s unshadowed clarity of heart and at times stabbing deep wounds of heartache brought characteristically sound of pure perfection. The Aladdin sonnet of Jay McLean’s majestic writing made Cam and Lucy’s narrative eleventy-three of a power stage and correlates to a penis moment and good old sappy ugly cry at more than one occasion.

“I just don’t see the point of reading and living in someone else’s world when my reality is perfect.” More Than Forever by Jay McLean

To say I idolize the way Jay writes is uncharacteristically shy of the truth, I leach onto every word on the page and every heart moving, stopping, grabbing moment that Jay writes I feel through the heart of the pages as I read. Jay may look up to Colleen Hoover, but I look up to Jay in more ways than one, she has been a guiding light and Cam and Lucy’s story (hold on two sec.. tears here) sends MORE than enough feelings tracking every inch of my heart and why I love to read.

“You can’t predict the future. You can’t tell me that we’ll be forever when you don’t know.” More Than Forever by Jay McLean

Moral of my overall sappy review, that probably doesn’t do anything to make you want to read the novel, is in fact to READ More Than Forever. For book lovers it’s a dynamite of heart, power and pure perfection all, that leads to so much love for the characters of Cam & Lucy in the fourth installment of the series.

*Mikayla*

In one night my fairytale ended. Or it may have begun. This is my story of friendship and love, heartbreak and desire, and the strength to show weakness.

*Jake*

One night I met a girl. A sad and broken girl, but one more beautiful than any other. She laughed through her sadness, while I loved through her heartbreak.

*This is our story of a maybe ever after.*

He was right. It made no difference whether it was 6 months or 6 years.
I couldn’t undo what had been done. I couldn’t change the future.
I couldn’t even predict it.
It was one night.
One night when everything changed.
It was so much more than just the betrayal.
It was the Tragedy.
The Deaths.
The Murders.
But it was also that feeling.
The feeling of falling.

More Than Her, #2 3e89b-morethanher

“For every action there is an equal or opposite reaction.”

For every choice you make there are rewards, or there are consequences.
It was my choice to walk away the first time.
And my choice to chase her the second.
But sometimes you don’t get a choice,
and all you get are the consequences.

“Being deeply loved by someone gives you strength,
while loving someone deeply gives you courage.”

Unless that someone is Logan Matthews.
Because loving him didn’t give me the strength to walk away.
It didn’t give me the courage to fight for him.
And when it was over, all it gave me was a broken heart.

“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness, that most frightens us.” – Marianne Williamson

We live in a world of darkness and shadows,
where monsters hide and aim to ruin.
And they did.
They ruined us and turned our dreams into nightmares.
But now we’re back.
And we’re fighting.
Not just for us, or for each other, but for our light.

~Review~

Outstanding and a brilliant new read.

Tempting Tatum is the first book I have read from Kaylee and boy did I fall in love! Tatum had everything going for all, then it all comes to a crash holt when life takes a drastic turn from what was perfect. From beginning to end, start to finish; I did not stop reading! Tatum and Blaise captured my heart from the very first time they met and I reckon if you love a firefighter, you will love Blaise; talk about the charmer and swoon worthy man of the century.

There were so many emotions and with every one, Tempting Tatum became a favourite book of 2014 for me. Tatum was such a strong character and the electric chemistry Kaylee created between Tatum and Blaise made reading all the more drool worthy. Between Blaise’s ability to charm the socks off me and Tatum’s headstrong ability to get through thick and thin, the love story is beautiful and fast paced which I love. I enjoyed the dual perspective especially the Blaise swoon worth moments.

Tempting Tatum phenomenally captured my heart; it was a sexalicious, tattoo-fied breath of a love story that charmed through all the heart racing, loving passionate moments. 5 STARS, and a strong recommendation to read. It’s beautiful and can’t wait to read more from Kaylee.

~Excerpt~

Tatum POV

Blaise has stepped up his seduction tactics. He’s constantly touching me, giving me sweet gentle kisses. His attention has me on fire. I’m ready to take him to the nearest storage closet or bathroom and take full advantage of what he’s offering.

He’s marking his claim for the night, and really, he doesn’t need to. I plan to allow him to seduce me. My earlier thoughts coming to mind. I know I shouldn’t since he is Ember’s brother, but I want him. I want to know what it feels like to feel his weight on top of me. To be able to trace his ink with my tongue. I can no longer resist his charms, or seduction techniques, whatever you want to call it. I just don’t want to resists him any longer. I want one night with him. One night of passion and no thoughts of what I lost. I just want him. With that thought, I relax against him. Blaise releases my hand and slips his arm around my waist to hold me against him. I need a drink!

~Synopsis~

Cali Parker is poor. She has a lot on her plate – her father is dying, she’s working to help pay the rent, and she’s two-years behind in college.

Griffin Brooks is rich. He has not a care in the world – he’s acing his engineering courses, his hobby is restoring his fifty-thousand dollar classic car, and he has a different girl on his arm every week.

When Cali sees Griffin on her first day of class, she’s immediately smitten and thinks she’s found the perfect guy. When Griffin sees Cali at the bank, he immediately forgets the blonde he was with that morning. Then they meet, and their worlds collide.

Cali doesn’t belong in Griffin’s world, and he doesn’t understand hers. But just when Griffin convinces Cali that their two different worlds can blend, a secret is revealed that tears them apart.

Is their love strong enough to bring them back together, or will their worlds drift further apart?

~Review~

Calling California by J.P. Grinder is a great, easy read. There are some twists that I didn’t see coming and one that I did. However, I enjoyed the fact that this is not your typical rich boy meets poor girl. There is pride, money, and family issues all mixed in. It is difficult for Cali who has grown up sometimes not knowing where her next meal is coming from. Also, believing that she should not trust taking money from anyone without them expecting something in return. Cali has so much pride that she doesn’t even like Griffin buying her a cup of coffee. She has had to take on a lot for a 19 year old.

This story shows us how easy it is to let pride and what you have believed to be true all your life ruin the best thing that has happened to you, in Cali’s case. In Griffin’s case you see how inspiring someone who has never had anything and has had the most horrible things thrown at them survive. it also proves that sometimes you have to lie to protect others. It isn’t a malicious lie but unless you are in that position you never know how you will Handel it. These two characters go through many life changing events but they learn that with each other they are better. There is a way to blend both of their worlds.

Review:

Dear Kelly’s talents never seize to amaze me. Every book. It’s beyond my expectations. I drop everything the moment they are released to read Kelly’s books. I am never disappointed either. Unconditional Love by the Kelly Master of swooning was no different. Dear, Lark can you pop up into my life somewhere please and swoop me off my feet. Lark and Azurdee have electric chemistry and from the very beginning Lark just has that swoon effect. Totally should be named the Kelly’s Swoon Effect.

The narrative is breathtaking, like words to a page; Kelly can truly give reader moments of sheer tears and absolute fit your pants laughter all in one book. Unconditional Love is one for the military hearts, the ones whose love ones are away from them and the unconditional love that binds couples. Azurdee is so headstrong and compassionate, with Lark’s dirty and somewhat frisky attitude I would expect nothing less of Kelly to write a beautiful novel of love, support, laughter and happiness. Lark and Azurdee are sizzling like fire on a barbeque and It was just so much fun to read. Fans of Kelly’s it’s a brand new series, although the reoccurrence of some familiar faces may come about, it was truly breathtaking, emotional and panting wetting all at once. 5 SPECTACULAR & WONDERFUL STARS.

EXCERPT:

Hello? Jessie?”
“What did you just ask me?” she said.
I chuckled. “After your first time. Were
you sore?”
Then she screamed. Right in my ear.
“Azurdee! You and Lark? Oh. My. God. Was it good?
I mean, I know it hurts at first, but after that? How many times did y’all? Was he sweet to you?
That bastard better have been sweet to you! Was it hot? Oh my God, tell me everything!”
I laughed as I made my way downstairs. I saw about a half dozen people out back cleaning up the rest of the reception.
Tables and chairs were being taken down and placed into a trailer.
“Azurdee!”
“Oh, sorry. I was watching them take down
the rest of the things from the reception.”
She let out a long sigh and said,
“Azurdee, spill it.”
I moved into the living room and sat down on the sofa. “Oh Jessie, it was amazing. He was amazing. He kept calling me mi amor!
It melted my heart every time he said it. He was sweet, passionate, and so gentle. It was beyond anything I had ever dreamed.”
She let out the silliest little yelp. “I knew Lark Williams had it in him.
He just needed to find the right girl.”
My stomach dipped a little and my smile faded a bit. “Well, I’m not sure if I’m the right girl or even the girl.”
“Wait. Was this a one-time thing? Please tell me you didn’t agree to him taking your virginity and walking away!”
“No. We both agreed that we would be exclusive, but I have a feeling this is the first time he has been exclusive
since…well since…” Why couldn’t I say her name?
“Nikki?” Jessie asked.
“Yes. Jessie, why do I feel like I’m in competition with someone who passed away years ago?
I can’t shake this feeling that he was comparing me to her.”
She let out a breath and said, “Pesh. Nonsense, Azurdee. He would never do that. I’m sure it was probably just very
powerful for him. I mean, by his own admission he has said he has no intentions of ever…”
Her voice trailed off and I knew she was regretting what she had just said. “Jessie, I knew how Lark was and how he thought when I
got into this. I know he could walk away at any given moment.”
I silently prayed that would never happen, but deep down inside I knew it was a strong possibility.
“He won’t walk away, sweetie. I see the way he looks at you. I think you are the game changer he’s been waiting for.”
I bit down on my fingernail and began chewing it. “Maybe. I don’t want to get my hopes up, ya know?”
“So tell me…are you sore?” she asked with a giggle.
I felt like a teenager in high school.
“Let’s just say he told me he was going to make it so I would think about him every time I moved…for a few days.”
Jessie let out a gasp and began laughing.
“Oh my.”
I dropped my head back onto the sofa and said, “Jessie…he is amazing. I mean…the way he can be so sweet and then so
dirty. Oh God. He had me going insane with lust for him.”
“The sweet part surprises me, but not the dirty,” she said with a laugh. I laughed in return and said, “Four times.”
“Four times! Look at the stamina Mr. Williams has!”
We both lost it in a laughing fit. “Jesus, Azurdee. No wonder you’re sore.”
“Bed twice, bathtub once, and then the shower,” I said in an almost whisper.

Breaking Fences by Juliana Haygert
(The Breaking Series)
Publication date: June 2014
Genres: Contemporary, New Adult

~Synopsis~

All Beatriz “Bia” Fernandes wants is to prove herself—to her family and friends—though it’s hard to prove anything with an overbearing father and three famous polo-playing older brothers. After her acceptance into college results in a heated family argument, the Brazilian girl leaves everything behind to find her own American dream.
College life away from home is perfect until the people she believes to be her friends turn on her. With lies and rumors threatening to suffocate her, Bia turns to her only freedom. Riding.

But one thing gets in the way of her escape. Garrett Blackwell and his bad cowboy attitude. Working at the ranch is his obligation, bugging Bia is his newfound hobby. His thick skin and easy grin don’t hide what Bia already knows—this misunderstood and lonely cowboy fights his own demons. Brushing horses’ coats and mucking out stalls shouldn’t be this sexy, and it isn’t long before he becomes a part of her distraction.

However, escaping won’t solve her problems, and it’s up to Bia to break down the fences around her and prove her strength—not to her family and friends, but to herself … and for Garrett. Because standing on her own doesn’t have to mean standing alone.

** Companion novel of Breaking the Reins. Can be read out of order.**

Goodreads:

~Review~

Finding your independence away from your family is never easy. In Breaking Fences by Juliana Haygert, we are introduced to Bia a driven young lady who goes off to college in the hope to find her place in the world outside of the shadows of her brothers and their polo careers.

I adored reading this novel for many reasons. It was unique in it’s own right than other books I have read. Bia was a beautiful and remarkable character with charm and poise throughout everything she went through and all the obstacles that challenged her to give up.

Step foot into the introduction of the stud making me smitten with love with this novel. Garrett from the very beginning was heart-warming and the connection, fit of chemistry with Bia was beautiful to read. I admire the narratives growth and unique ability to bring different cultural beliefs into a tale of heart and strength, as it was believable and relevant. I generally felt the consensus of the book was beautifully written, however would have enjoyed a little bit more at the very end.

All embracing the novel was beautiful in it’s romantic spark, its heart-breaking moments of truth & hurt. Horses played a major roles and I could easily swoon over horses any day. Bia’s sanctuary is with horses, and Garrett charmed the pants off of me. I can’t wait to read more from the author. This is the second book in the series but can be read as a standalone. 5 magnificently glorious stars. X

~REVIEW~

Life In A Rut, Love not Included by J.D. Hollyfield was a breathe of fresh air intertwined with heartfelt romance. Sarah was in a rut, and there was no doubt about it. Bruised and battered emotionally by her ex-best friend and ex-boyfriend life just wasn’t what she envisioned it to be. I adored reading this book because of the sexy banter that J.D. created with the centric characters of Sarah and Jack. It was smoking hot, sassy in its quips to make me laugh and just a beauty rendition of love and finding love when you feel like you’re in a rut.

Life can sometimes take a turn into the unexpected and J.D. Hollyfield created a dynamic driven with sass, love, support, emotion and driven heartfelt romance that enchanted the page and us a reader from the very beginning. In a rut, Sarah wants more. Jack is drop dead swoon worthy and that’s why I enjoyed reading Life In A Rut, Love Not Included because it was light, fun, sassy and a beautiful heartfelt romance.

Bonding with her brother comes easily. Maintaining the tight bond she’s always shared with her father is harder to do.

✰REVIEW✰

Authors who change your way of thinking, dreaming, inspiring are the one’s to be most appreciative of. G.J Walker-Smith is exactly that for me. In a truly breathtaking and counter ship of emotions her latest release Silver Dawn pivots through every expectation, every emotion and every fiber of your body to create such a beautiful tale.

“Whoever said that we’re never sent more than we can handle is a liar. I couldn’t handle the horror I’d been burdened with that morning.” Silver Dawn by G.J Walker-Smith

I love the work; the craftsmen’s shift of creating a story so touching was just what G.J did with pure talent. It was heavy hearted to read, I have to admit. I would definitely suggest a box of tissues and some chocolate. The narrative follows Gabrielle and Alex back in Piper’s Cove, where a string of events leave Alex questioning his faith in life and Gabi in turmoil of the line between home and heaven.

“The things that scare us are never as daunting if you change the way you look at them.” Silver Dawn by G.J Walker-Smith

The leads and loose cannons that fly in Alex and Gabi’s direction where heartbreaking, my heart melted and shattered a million and one times whilst reading Silver Dawn. It was a truly exquisite novel on Alex and Gabi. The pain of not knowing the future, having little faith because of the catastrophic turn of events and sometimes just believing that everything happens for a reason is what guides a truly magnificent narrative of a million hearts and shadows of pain. A shattered heart and broken tear of 5 stars all in one. Beyond the words of the page G.J. Walker-Smith makes a difference.

~Falling Into Autumn by Heather Topham Wood Book Review~

foa-3-5-ver-4

~ Synopsis~

Autumn Dorey had no problem leaving her hometown of Newpine and the friends there who’d betrayed her. Everyone thought they knew what happened the spring night Autumn’s world fell apart. Vicious rumors about the incident circulated, and she had to be homeschooled the last year of high school to escape her tormentors. All she wants now is to get away from it all and start over at Cook University. She leaves everything but the memory behind—something she swore she’d never forget—and sets off to rebuild what was broken.

Blake Preston is precisely the type of guy Autumn wants to avoid. He’s gorgeous, arrogant and the college’s beloved football star. As much as she believes he’s someone she should steer clear of, avoiding him proves to be impossible. He shows up everywhere around campus, offering her a no-strings attached friendship.

Autumn can’t deny Blake stirs up emotions she thought fled years ago. But things he’s been hiding begin to emerge and collide with her past, leaving her heart ravaged in their wake.

~Review~

Reading books you have those moments. The moments you fall for a character. The moments that your heart skips a beat knowing that love like the ones you read really do exist even if it’s just in the mind of an author. Falling for Autumn brought light to a sad story. Heather created such a beautiful and brilliantly written narrative that had the ability to speak about fears, heartache and finding love.

In a chance meeting Blake and Autumn meet, their story is woven and tied with a major secret, a first meeting, undeniable chemistry and real passion. I loved the narrative development and how falling for Autumn was something unexpected for Blake but the pure heart and relationship grew more and more as time passed. It wasn’t forced, it wasn’t rushed, it was just a beautifully written piece. That’s not to say the relationship is the bee’s knees of smooth. The characters face personal demons and a connection I never saw coming. It was so beautiful to read and have the two characters create a special bond. I loved how it wasn’t just about developing a relationship but also personal growth from within and facing challenges and not letting them define you. It was special and distinctive in it’s raw compassion and fine art of emotion. Absolutely loved it, 5 star rating for sure and definitely a high recommendation.

Finding Autumn is Book 1.5 and will be out July 15th 2014. This is Blake’s POV with additional scenes. X

~Blog Tour~ Say the Word by Julie Johnson

Say the Word Blog Tour Banner

Synopsis
“The heart isn’t like the liver. It doesn’t regenerate, no matter how much time passes. Once it’s gone, it’s gone for good. I’d left mine with Sebastian when I walked away that day, and I hadn’t seen it in the seven years since.” — Lux Kincaid

At eighteen, Lux is forced to make a choice. One that nearly destroys her.

She breaks a boy’s heart.

She breaks her own, too.

Seven years later, Lux never expects to see Sebastian again — especially not when her career as a journalist is hanging by a thread and she’s stumbled onto the story of a lifetime. As she chases down leads and explores the dark underbelly of Manhattan, Lux will put her life on the line. But after crossing paths with a still-unforgiving Sebastian, it’s her heart she’s most worried about.

Amidst the blame and the betrayal, the hurt and the heartbreak… can two lost lovers ever find their way back to one another?

Lines will be blurred. The past will be unearthed. And Lux will find out that some secrets aren’t meant to be kept…

Untitled

Say the Word by Julie Johnson was a beautifully written narrative that showed depth and passion through two brilliant characters. We all like to think blackmail, hurt, pain and sacrifice don’t exist but that’s hardly the case. I loved the characters Julie created within her book. Sebastian and Lux’s relationship is so indepth and powerful through reading the novel. The dynamic created of having chapters of then and now, was really interesting to read and added great power to the novel.

The novel does seem to overwhelm you with description. I found myself skimming explanations and lengthy areas with no dialogue. I am a dialogue person, I like interaction. I would have loved to see less explanation and a little more dialogue, however the story as a whole is brilliant. It is tapped in it’s voice to create Lux as a strong character who has made choices to benefit others and who has such a kind heart.

Overwhelmingly I loved the chemistry, I loved the characters and the narrative was beautiful. I would recommend it to those who love depth and exploring characters in descriptive ways. It was full of heart, wonder, choices and emotion. I rated it a 4 Lit Love as it kept me reading till the very end.

~REVIEW!~
Sweet loving mama jammer. Boy oh boy, so it’s not a hidden secret I am a fan of Kelly Elliott. I tell Kel numerous times I am going to attack hug her the next time I see her because she is amazing. (I’m not a stalker I promise, just a hardcore Cowboy CHASER.. hehe some will get the reference.) So when I finished her latest novel ‘A Forever Love’ I wanted to cry, smile and just give her a massive hug. For most, Kelly is known for her Wanted series of books, so coming into A Forever Love I prepared myself knowing it is the legend of Grams and Gramps.
The passion and love that Kelly always expresses within narrative was like light to day and stars to the night sky it was truly classical. We hear the tale of love from the 1950’s on the true kinship that ignited between the lovebirds of Emma and Garrett and boy is it sweet. I cried, I laughed; I grinned like a Cheshire cat and felt pain when the Emma and Garrett felt pain. The tale, like all legends we classical and elegant in true Kelly style. I loved how Emma made Garrett fight for their relationships and it was never about Emma not loving Garrett but about him standing up and showing that their love will reach no bounds of ending. Kelly’s stories always hit me like an arrow in the heart, full of promise, hot sexy scenes and the sweetness of two characters who are the tale of how the Wanted Series came to incorporate so many characters of love. The letters, the children, the parents and the grandparents of the clam from the Wanted Series made for one breathtakingly enchanting story.
A Forever Love concludes the tales of the Wanted Series and whilst Kelly says never say never to another book one thing is for sure that the legacy of a heart of gold, the warmth that Kel has spread and the undying passion that was seen throughout the series is beyond words. A Forever Love puts the four-letter word love to a means like nothing else. I rated a big fat gigantic BEYOND LOVE! It is a 2014 HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! Kel did more than speak a voice, and make so many fall in love with cowboys but she also found a voice of true passion, devotion, friendship and adoration to such astonishing characters.
