~About BEFORE YOU~

Some say love is deadly. Some say love is beautiful. I say it is both.

Faith Watters spent her junior year traveling the world, studying in exquisite places, before returning to Oviedo High School. From the outside her life is picture-perfect. Captain of the dance team. Popular. Happy. Too bad it’s all a lie.

It will haunt me. It will claim me. It will shatter me. And I don’t care.

Eighteen-year-old Diego Alvarez hates his new life in the States, but staying in Cuba is not an option. Covered in tattoos and scars, Diego doesn’t stand a chance of fitting in. Nor does he want to. His only concern is staying hidden from his past—a past, which if it were to surface, would cost him everything. Including his life.

At Oviedo High School, it seems that Faith Watters and Diego Alvarez do not belong together. But fate is as tricky as it is lovely. Freedom with no restraint is what they long for. What they get is something different entirely.

Love—it will ruin you and save you, both.

Before You

 ~Review~

Book hangover in the house. I have never felt so many driven emotions whilst reading a book, than I have whilst reading Before You by Amber Hart. I couldn’t quiet place from the beginning whether Before You by Amber Hart was going to whip me into a frenzy of emotions but rest assured it sure did. The novel follows Diego and Faith in an emotionally charged pure embedment of love, passion, power and fight.

I couldn’t put the book down. The chemistry Amber created with ethnically charged depictions of some societal views played an important role in the novel and made me towing line to line, page to page reading without stopping. I felt like my heart literally stopped at points during the novel. All the praise in the world for Amber in creating such an ethically and passionately sound novel that strung raw emotion in two uttermost astounding characters.

Faith and Diego’s narrative did one of the most emotionally driven things that novels can do; make me as a reader cry. It may sound silly, but I rarely cry when reading books that is until today apparently. Ugly crying and having people on a train look at me strangely was probably both a reward and sacrifice as my mascara ran down my cheek. I can’t have enough praise for Amber in the high school orientated novel that brings the unlikely pairing of Diego and Faith to the surface of greatness and passion with a truly inspiring, heartbreaking and awe-inspiring novel. I can’t wait to read more from Amber in After Us (Melissa and Javier) and future releases.

5 STARS.

~Review~

Who doesn’t love a rockstar? I can’t pinpoint any moment that I stopped and stepped away from reading the amazing debut by Elizabeth Briggs- More Than Music. It was a beautifully written rockstar romance with so much heart, drama, romance and much more. It hit all the right notes, (see what I did there J) and I am completely head over heels in love with the two main characters Jared and Maddie.

The narrative had me from first strum, to last bang of the drums and we all know I love a rockstar romance so I am a little bit overexcited to swoon and drool over the amazing book. Jared and Maddie are the dynamic duo that’s relationship is developed and explored through More Than This and I absolutely LOVED IT! I could relate to Maddie in more ways than one, because growing up a tell tale I was shy and loved music too. Her relationships and her personality is how I came to fall in love with the narrative even more, because I could see a lot of Maddie in me, which made reading a real experience.

The chemistry that Elizabeth created is downright rock your socks of hot and from the moment Jared and Maddie met, it was so much fun to read. It is a light read with Maddie struggling with her own flaws and Jared in his rockstar ways, but I really LOVED it. The incorporation of music was a highlight for me because I play a number of instruments so I can relate. The brilliant debut was a 5 STAR rating and a definite swoon of a read. I loved it and couldn’t put it down. Highly recommend it if you love rockstar romances.

~BOOK SUMMARY~

Children’s librarian by day. Romance novelist by night.

British single father.

Someone else is writing this love story…

Blair Walton isn’t your average curvaceous tattooed children’s librarian. She’s also one half of bestselling romance author, Scarlet Rose. Along with her BFF Raine, she spends her nights writing books so steamy, she’s afraid they would shock her Southern conservative grandmother to death . . . if she knew about them. That’s why she and Raine write in secret.

On deadline for their latest book and out of ideas, Raine suggests (demands) that Blair find a guy and “do some research”. Declan Bennet has all the qualifications: He’s British, looks fabulous in a suit, has glorious blue eyes and gets bonus points for being an amazing single dad to his adorable son, Drake. But what starts out as a research project quickly turns into something much more. And Blair’s not the only one with secrets.

~Review~

I read a crapload of books, no denying that. Narratives need to grab me to continue reading. Unwritten by Chelsea M. Cameron is a standalone novel that was powerful and extraordinarily unique. The narrative blew me away as the power of Chelsea’s words is uncanny and why I love to read her novels. Let’s just say If the beginning sentence of a book has ‘pussy’ in it, you know that is going to bring you to your knees with swoon worthy moments at least once of twice, right? Chelsea definitely did.

Unwritten defines why I love to read stories that are not your average run of the mile love stories. Unwritten is a narrative about a young librarian who falls for a very charming Brit, unbeknown to everyone is she also has a secret or maybe a secret identity? It didn’t take me long to just read page after page, from start to finish as I was wrapped and pulled into the magnificent world of Blair and Declan.

I love how Chelsea creates characters and Blair has to be one of my all-time favourites. She is so unique, as she is not stereotypical. I loved how Blair and Declan formed their bond through him being a single father. It brought so much raw emotion and real love to the story. Declan and Blair’s chemistry definitely is swoon worthy and I did have to tell myself it’s a book a couple of times.

The swoon worthy young dad, Declan OMG Declan! Is reason enough to why I loved Unwritten. I’m sighing just thinking about the masterpiece of swoon worthy, and amazing moment’s that Chelsea has divulged and spread within the seeping pages of Unwritten. It is a romance for you. It’s very unique and that’s why I love it. I don’t want to give away to much of the narrative because you NEED TO, NEED TO READ IT! I would absolutely read Unwritten over and over again. I gave it a massive 5 STARS because it was just beautiful and I loved everything about it.

*BOOK REVIEW* True by Erin McCarthy

~SYNOPSIS~

A New Adult novel from USA Today bestselling author Erin McCarthy

When Rory Macintosh’s roommates find out that their studious and shy friend has never been with a guy, they decide that, as an act of kindness they’ll help her lose her virginity by hiring confident, tattooed bad boy Tyler Mann to do the job…unbeknownst to Rory.

Tyler has told Rory that he’s not good enough for her. She’s smart, doctor smart, while he’s barely scraping by at his EMT program, hoping to pull his younger brothers out of the hell their druggy mother has left them in. But he can’t seem to stay away from her, and even when Rory knows she should push him away, something about him makes it nearly impossible for her to resist—even though her heart is at stake…

Torn between common sense and desire, the two find themselves caught up in a passionate relationship. But when Tyler’s broken family threatens to destroy his future, and hers, Rory will need to decide whether to cut her ties to his risky world or follow her heart, no matter what the cost…

~REVIEW~

Mmm. Nothing says Romance like a ploy made by your friends to help you lose your virginity right?

Rory wants nothing more to not be labeled a virgin, so when her friends ploy to get Tyler the bad-boy with a capital B to help her lose her virginity she has no idea. Once the tables are cleared of this little ploy though flames and passion erupt. I loved this narrative because it showed such a lovely expression of voice within the characters and storyline. Rory being a 20 year old virgin was convinced she wasn’t attractive. This to me is totally relatable, as she is the shy girl who is always on the outskirts. (Totally like me.

The breathe of fresh air to Rory’s life walks in, in the form of Tyler Mann who generally is just trying to keep his family from breaking at the seams. I loved the background of the two characters because it brought so much to the narrative. I loved Tyler from the very beginning, he had such a good heart and I think that’s why I loved the chemistry between him and Rory. The written expression was flawless in the first book in the series. (totally want to stop writing the review and read it again)

Tyler and Rory together are like magnets there is something that intrigues Tyler about Rory and vice versa. A $100 dollar ploy from Rory’s best friends for Tyler to take Rory’s virginity doesn’t stop him from creating a bond with her.

It was told in Rory’s point of view, as her approach to life is logical and definitely has its challenges. I loved the drama, I loved the narrative, I loved the characters. I just loved it, that’s why I rated it a 4.5 Lit Love. sThe narrative has so much heart and I absolutely loved throughout everything the bond that was created between Tyler and Rory despite everything that happened. TRUER was my favourite word after reading the book. Xx

~Perfect Kind of Trouble by Chelsea Fine Book Review & Excerpt~

Perfect Kind of Trouble ebook

PERFECT KIND OF TROUBLE

♡♡~Synopsis~♡♡

Sometimes when perfect falls apart, a little trouble fixes everything . . .

Twenty-one-year-old Kayla Turner has lost everything. After spending most of her life taking care of her ailing mother, she just wants to spot a glimmer of light at the end of the tunnel. So when her late father-a man she barely knew-leaves her an inheritance, she finally breathes a sigh of relief . . . until she learns the inheritance comes with strings. Strings in the form of handsome playboy Daren Ackwood, her father’s protégé. To see any of her inheritance, she’s forced to team up with him. From his expensive car to those sexy dimples, Kayla’s seen his type before. But Daren isn’t who he seems to be . . .

Struggling to make amends for his family’s mistakes, Daren has a life more Oliver Twist than Richie Rich these days. He’s beyond grateful that James Turner included him in his will, but working with Turner’s princess of a daughter to fulfill his cryptic last wish is making Daren wonder if being broke is really so bad. Still, she’s just as beautiful as she is stubborn, and the more time he spends with Kayla, the less it feels right being without her. Soon Daren and Kayla begin to wonder if maybe the best gift Kayla’s dad could have left them . . . was each other.

♡♡~REVIEW~♡♡

Daren and Kayla.

Daren Ackwood.

The name is as dreamy as the book was. Perfect Kind of Trouble is the second installment of Finding Fate Series by Chelsea Fine and it was an absolute hoot to read. I love banter and especially witty banter. Toss in some sexual tension and undeniable chemistry vibrating through the air and that’s exactly what Perfect Kind of Trouble ensued was delivered when Kayla Turner came back to her old town, to mourn the loss of her father.

“He’s attractive. Dangerously attractive. The kind of attractive that can suck you into a sweet haze and undo you completely before you even know you’ve surrender.” Kayla Turner in Perfect Kind of Trouble by Chelsea Fine.

Authors just don’t plop to characters together and expect chemistry to erupt and happily every after to pop in thin air and that’s what I love about Chelsea’s writing. In Perfect Kind of Trouble loss, heart, grief, passion, pain and so much more are instigated in a scavenger hunt of epic proportions. Kayla and Daren fight, the love, they grow, they discover so much more than what binds them together.

“Because money without love is complete poverty. And poverty with love, well that’s pure wealth.” Perfect Kind of Trouble by Chelsea Fine.

A loss binds the two and the narrative was pure bliss to read. It was beautifully written with so much dedication to creating a dynamic that appeases something unique. Unique is definitely what Kayla and Daren’s bond shifts towards. The witty banter, the romance, the history and the emotion lead a beautifully written play of heart and finding the unexpected in love. Fully heartily a 5 STAR RATING and a highly recommended read for heart, love, fun and just a beautiful read.

♡♡~EXCERPT~♡♡

I reach Mr. Perkins’s office and quickly park before climbing out of the car in my high heels.

The inheritance really could be only twenty dollars—or less—and spending an afternoon chained to Daren Ackwood to find it could be a complete waste of time, not to mention horribly awkward given our romantic encounter last night, but it’s worth a shot. Because if it turns out to be a substantial amount of money, everything could change.

Not only could I go back to nursing school, but I could afford a decent apartment and buy myself some time to find a new job—one where my boss isn’t demanding I work for free or flash him in order to pay off my mother’s debt.

Ugh. My life can really only go uphill from where I’m at.

I know money can’t buy happiness, and I believe that. But it would be nice to be out from under Big Joe’s threatening thumb. And sleeping in a cockroach-free apartment while eating regular hot meals wouldn’t be bad either.

I hurry down the sidewalk toward Mr. Perkins’s office, tripping a little in my shoes. Maybe wearing the skirt and heels again wasn’t such a great idea. But I wanted to look professional and responsible, and the gray dress is too hot and the only other pair of shoes I own are my beat-up sneakers from last night. I didn’t think a pencil skirt and a pair of dirty sneakers really said I can be trusted with my deceased father’s money. So I went with the pumps.

I wobble as my shoe catches on a small pebble and curse under my breath.

High heels really are a bitch.

Up ahead, I see Daren round a corner and hurry toward the office, now just a few yards down the sidewalk. I relax a little, knowing he’s not there yet. As we near each other, my stomach fills with butterflies. I don’t know what I’m more anxious about—the inheritance or seeing Daren.

We reach Eddie’s door at the same time.

“Good morning.” He smiles broadly.

“Morning,” I respond with a cheerful smile of my own.

Our smiles are exaggerated, like we’re trying to prove just how “okay” we are with the thing that never happened last night. Then our eyes meet in brief a clash of lust, and tension fills the air.

Daren is the first to break it. “So. You ready to do this?”

“I am,” I say.

The tension returns, but this time it’s laced with nervousness. We’re about to lock ourselves together. For money. The morning after we dry humped each other against a bar. It’s nothing less than weird and desperate. Which begs the question, why is Daren doing this?

I know why I’m subjecting myself to this craziness but I’m still not sure why Daren has agreed—especially without knowing how much money is at stake. Is he in it for the thrill? Is he just bored?

Whatever his reasons are, I’m grateful.

We enter the office and Eddie looks up from his messy desk, his glasses perched on his shiny head. Today he’s wearing a yellow button-up shirt with a plaid bow tie to match his plaid pants. The look suits him.

“You’ve returned,” he says brightly, standing to greet us. “I guess this means you’ve come to a decision about Mr. Turner’s letter?”

“We have,” I say.

Daren nods. “Yes.”

“Excellent.” Eddie clasps his hands together. “What have you decided?”

Daren and I exchange an anxious look. My stomach does a flip-flop, afraid he’s going to change his mind, but then he gives me a subtle nod and I nod back.

We turn to face Eddie, hold out our wrists, and at the same time say, “Cuff us.”

~Look After You by Elena Matthews Book Review~

Look After You by Elena Matthews

SYNOPSIS:

The birth of your firstborn child is supposed to be the best day of your life, a joyous occasion. Well that’s what twenty-eight year old Ava Jacobson thought. That is until her life takes a drastic turn for the worse and her daughter is born three months earlier than planned, weighing only two pounds, two ounces.

A distraught Ava is thrown into the deep end of motherhood and instead of being able to hold her baby like other moms, she has to sit back and watch her daughter fight for her life in the hospital’s neonatal intensive care unit, while her fiancé, Sebastian Gilbert is in the midst of a messy war in Afghanistan. Ava is left to pick up the pieces with the help of her only friend, Caleb Summers.

When her vulnerable state hits an all time low, she finds solace in an unexpected pair of intense green eyes. Eyes that belong to her daughter’s doctor, Ashton Bailey, and she falls, like she has never fallen before. However, for the sake of Sebastian she desperately tries to fight against her newfound feelings for Ashton, but eventually the pull between the two is so strong that it is impossible for her to stay away.

Then when Ava is convinced things can’t possibly get any worse, a cloud of blackness closes in on her as the secret demons of her past come back to haunt her, with news that will irreversibly shake her entire world forever.

As Ava’s roller coaster ride she calls life begins to circle the drain, she quickly learns that even through the darkness of evil, there is always that one person who will look after you and have the ability to pull you away from the brink of no return, when nobody else can.

Warning: Recommended for ages 18+ due to heavy subject matters of rape and suicide. Also includes violence, explicit language and sexual situations.

REVIEW:

I tend to envy those who can write books with breathtaking emotion. One day somewhere, some place on earth a star was born because emotion changes how a reader views a book. Look after You by Elena Matthews devised a deep notion that in times of need sometimes you can’t help who you fall for. In Look After You we are introduced to Ava and Ashton. Ava a new mum, who’s fiancée is fighting a war in Afghanistan and Ashton a neurology specialist doctor who looks after the mum to be in the toughest of times. I loved the narrative. It was a sonnet of passion, heart and a breathtakingly beautiful story about pain and finding someone when the world feels like it’s closing in on you. Ashton has no intentions of being labeled the home-wrecker. I enjoyed how the story developed and how intentions, feelings and the bewitchment of love and strength played vital roles. My heart broke for Sebastian, I have to admit and I can’t wait to read his narrative in the next book.

The heart-warming struggle of a mother, a kindled friendship turned more made the narrative an undeniably brilliant read. For Ava, her pain, her life represent real issues and are relative to women and mums. I’m not a mum, but I imagine tears whilst reading if you are a mum. A loving kinship of the hearts desires, not letting the past define you and so much more. I rated the novel 5 STARS. It was gripping in it’s flawless narrative, special in it’s characters and undoubtedly a beautiful read.

~Where There’s Smoke by Elizabeth Lee Review~

20931527

~Synopsis~

There is something to be said for letting go. Ryland Roberts knows that better than anyone. He’d let go of his ambitions, of his family and—most of all—of her. He’d perfected the art of putting his past behind him and accepted the fact that the town he wanted to leave in his rearview was the place where he was going to live out his days. But sometimes the past doesn’t just go away. Sometimes it comes back to haunt you.

Piper Jameson convinced herself that she left for all the right reasons. She’d saved people by leaving—made sure that they weren’t tainted by her rebellious ways. When her little sister asks her to come home and say goodbye to their ailing mother, she’s forced to see that things aren’t always as they seem. The people who she’d left behind might not have been saved at all.

In the amount of time it takes a bullet to travel from point A to point B, Piper and Ryland will have to put their feelings for each other aside and make a choice. Forced on the run with Piper’s sister, they begin to understand that the future they thought was gone was never really lost.

~REVIEW~

Where There’s Smoke by Elizabeth Lee was a phenomenal read and definitely one of my favourite books so far in 2014. This book breaks rules of breathtakingly exquisite and unique. I loved reading it. The romantic suspense genre hasn’t been one I have read until now but this reunion romantic tale made it so worth it. Piper and Ry have not had an easy path, faced with challenges and a very complicated history Piper returns to her hometown after leaving six years ago. With the narrative it is filled with heart and emotion. Ryland was a casualty of a choice that left him shattered and bitter.

I loved Ry and how the narrative developed with so much at stake Piper comes back to see her sister after her mother dies. So much can be said about the passion and emotion that was beautifully written within the piece. I loved it from beginning to end. The novel was original in its narrative, edgy in it’s events and intriguing to what was going to happen next. Feelings emerged whether tainted by the past, bruised by the current or scared about the future. I loved the drama, I loved the relationships and I got to say it was mysterious in its beauty to make me want to find out what’s next. Definitely a must read. I rated it a massive 5 Star rating and I can’t wait to read Hadley’s story in the future.

How do you lose everything? You start by falling.

~REVIEW~

The fall from grace, the beating of ones heart and the undeniable chemistry set notions of love alive in The Fall of January Cooper by Audrey Bell. The flourishing narrative kept me reading from start to finish. I loved how the two characters had been heavy-hearted and full of sadness and they unite to form a bond that can withstand anything.

January Cooper and Christian Cutlass (how cool are their names) ignite a fiery and tremendous relationship from the very beginning. January is seen as a rich kid when deep down she feels unshielded and the shell of who she wants to be. Christian is the impairment of the young man he use to be. The narrative to be was beautiful because it was so unique and dynamic in it’s assertion to speak to the heart. The endearment and the banter of the relationship between January and Christian kept me wondering what’s going to happen next which I loved. What I admire about The Fall of January Cooper as a piece, is that Audrey was able to create two characters who were flawed, and nothing was going to be perfect but that was ok because out of everything a bond was created.

Universally, Audrey Bell has done a spectacular job at creating another fantastic novel and I would love to see more from January and Christian as I do think there is potential especially with some untied ends for a sequel possibly. I rated the book 4 STARS! January and Christian formed such a beautiful friendship and relationship and I really loved dearly the story. Can’t wait to read more from the author.

Emma never fails to deliver in passion, in heart, in pain and in the never-put-the-book-down-for-a-second emotion. Final Call is the second book in the Call Series and the much-anticipated conclusion to Dayton and Aarons story. It should be known to read Late Call before Final Call as it is not a standalone. If sexalicious passion and heart are combined what do you get– some smoking hot scenes, some deliciously gorgeous lickable images of Aaron Stone embedded in your head and so much more. After being left to simmer with pain after Late Call, this sequel DOES NOT DISSAPOINT.

“I play more than dirty sweetheart. I play downright filthy. “ Aaron Stone – Final Call.

I could go on as long as it takes to probably read through the English dictionary word for word to tell you how amazing and beautifully written Final Call is. For everything that passion, sexy erotic novels are the delivery of Dayton and Aaron’s relationship blows it out of the park.

“Great love makes the bad stuff disappear, if only for a second, and you and I? We have the greatest love I’ve ever felt.” Aaron Stone – Final Call

In the breath-taking and exquisite second book in the series, Final Call left an impression on my heart that will never be forgotten . For love, for life, for romance and for passion Final Call delivers in the best way possible. Calling all guys who think Aaron Stone is there, he’s mine.. hehe. I think we all dibs him right? A beautiful and stunning masterpiece of art and love, I rated it a BEYOND rating for the tears, for the laughter, for the Aaron Stone in our hearts it was beyond words.

Hope Manson ruled her school senior year. When a girl in her class, Jenny, spreads a rumor about Hope, an attempt of getting even ends with Jenny dead and Hope in prison for man-slaughter. Six years later, she is let out with one goal in mind- to make a difference.
A difference for Jenny.
Hope will be anything but selfish.

Wes Styles is an asshole.
He is controlling, self obsessed, and just plain mean.
And Hope likes it. She wants someone to treat her like dirt, as a reminder of what she did.
Plus, if someone treats her like shit, she can’t fall in love- right? Because falling in love is the most selfish thing you can do.

Wes Styles loves women. He loves when they’re calling his name, making him come, or digging nails into his back. But he does not fall in love with women.
When Wes meets Hope, he is immediately intrigued by the fact she likes being treated like nothing more than a piece of ass.
And he knows she is holding a dark secret.
But he doesn’t want to know what this secret is, because when he finds out the truth, he may leave. And for the first time in his life, he doesn’t want to.

Warning: This story deals with topics not suitable for everyone. Recommended for mature adults, 18+ in age, due to intense sexual situations, violence, and strong language.

~REVIEW~

Ex Convict by Ashley Beale was one of those narratives that I got so engrossed and emerged in that I forgot to highlight and bookmark my favourite quotes. A lover of books, and reviewer this isn’t something I usually do. I absolutely loved it the characters had so much heart. This book was full of sexy and I really enjoyed reading. In Ex Convict, the narrative dismantles the after prison sentence of Hope, as she is released from prison. I loved how Hope met Wes and how the narrative grew about learning lessons and exploring how to forgive yourself for the mistakes made in the past. Ex Convict was an amazing sexy and beautifully written story and my first book I have read by Ashley and can’t wait to read more. The dual perspectives of both Wes and Hope made it for such a descriptive and beautiful read.

I loved reading Ex Convict because it was about learning that even that worst mistakes you have to move forward from. Hope wanted punishment even after prison for her sins and I think that’s what made the chemistry with Wes so amazing. To begin with they were both using each other and dealing with their own set of issues. The characters are definitely hot and sometimes I felt like Hope was a little too critical about the mistake she made but it was a beautifully written story and I really enjoyed reading it. I rated it a 4 out of 5 stars. Captivating, sexy and all around a great read.
