DEX! SIN! DEX! SIN! Written in the language of pure fire & ball and chain beauty, I absolutely loved Dragon’s Liar by Chantal. It has the perfect mix of everything. Passion. Love. Support. Death. Sacrifice. It has it all. This is the first book I have read from Chantal, I know, I know. How could I have not read any of her previous work before but rest assured I definitely will now.
Dex and Faye are lighting bolt electric with one night changing everything, the events the perspire are beyond your wildest dreams. Dex, the Vice-president of the MC is smoking hot. The vivid images that played in my head when reading some scenes definitely weren’t PG-13. Any-who? Back to the land of living. Battles are dawn, relationships are formed; broken; cherished and supported through sacrifice. I love it for the passion that Dex and Faye had for each other. Dex being Faye’s ex-boyfriends brother made in it all the more enticing and juicy to read. Real love, Real Loyalty and Sacrifice create a bond of real meaning in such a wonderful book. Definitely highly recommended. 5 STARS!!!!

Rush Into You Review:

From the very first words, to the very last ones Rush Into You had me reading like there was no tomorrow. It is not to often that a book captivates the negative side and the growth that can come from admitting you have a problem by Brianna did it. It was powerful in it’s relentless effort to show all the sides of such a strong issue like drug abuse.

Some don’t like reading books that deal with drugs and alcohol but from reading this book, it brings the party lifestyle in to perspective. The consequences of a mistake, is believable within the narrative. I loved the relationship that was founded between Ryker and Gabby. The founding development of the story was enjoyable and special to read. The issue of drug abuse and the notion of making mistakes is what resoundingly I found of heart within the book.

In reading, the heart of the characters and the lessons learned grasp so many important aspects of life and that was delightful in reading. The important issues, the heart of romance that blossoms between Ryker and Gabby is sweet and charming. I could really relate to Gabby, not in the sense of the drug issues but with making mistakes. It was an amazing read and I rated it a 4- Lit Love. Griping story, strong issues dealt with and the love of two people who despite all the pain of the past come together and flames ignite. xx

*BOOK REVIEW* What Goes on Tour – Claire Boston

whatgoesontour
Synopsis
What goes on tour, stays on tour … or does it?
Few people know that socially awkward Adrian Hart is actually rock god Kent Downer, and that’s the way Adrian likes it. His privacy is essential, especially now that he has guardianship of his orphaned, ten-year-old niece, Kate. But when the nanny quits in the middle of his tour Adrian finds himself in a bind.
Until Libby Myles walks into his life.
Libby has only ever wanted to become a full-time author and prove to her parents that she can make it on her own. On the surface, the temporary job as the nanny for Kent Downer’s niece looks perfect—the pay is fabulous, the hours are short and Kate is a big fan—it’s the rock star that’s the issue.
Arrogant and way too attractive for anyone’s good, Kent Downer has enough swagger to power a small city. But when he’s out of costume he’s different—shy and uncertain. For Libby it’s a far harder combination to resist. She needs to find a balance between work, writing and ignoring her attraction to the rock star, because if she falls for him, it could mean the end of her dream.
But when a horrible scandal is unleashed—putting young Kate in danger—there’s more heat between Libby and Adrian than just sexual attraction. Libby must figure out if Adrian ever cared for her, or if it was all just part of the show.
REVIEW
Debut Australian author Claire Boston ignites passion and heart with her debut ‘What Goes on Tour.’ I love myself a rocker romance, they make my heart all fuzzy and happy. Adrian and Libby were no different. The chemistry they shared was electric and heartwarming.
I loved Adrian and his care for his niece Kate. Being a rock-star can be seen as all parties, the high life and rock and roll. In this debut novel by Boston however changes the game and does a remarkable job at creating a noble and enticing character that has his faults but is full of heart. We all hear the news reports classing a “rock star going to be supermarket” as newsworthy and it was refreshing to see Adrian portrayal.
Being a rock-star and taking care of his niece who is ten has its hazards, that’s why he needs a nanny whilst on tour in Australia. (Side Note- Yay for novel locations within Australia) Libby wants nothing more than to be a successful author, but realises it won’t happen overnight.
I loved how she was introduced to Adrian (Kent – stage name) and Kate and how a temporary fall in motivation creates such a unique and charisma within the narrative. I enjoyed reading the book, it was fresh and fun with romance and heart. For a debut novel it was a wonderful read and having a rock-star at the forefront kept me reading. Overall, I rated it a 4- Lit Love as it brought the message of unconditional love, fighting for love and also being true to yourself.
AUTHOR BIO
Claire Boston was a voracious reader as a child, devouring anything by Enid Blyton as well as series such as Nancy Drew, Trixie Belden, The Baby-sitters Club and Sweet Valley High. Then one school holidays when she’d run out of books to read her mother handed her ‘Hot Ice’ by Nora Roberts and Claire instantly fell in love with romance novels.

The love of reading soon turned to a love of writing and she struggled to keep within the 1500 word limit set by her teachers for her creative writing assignments. When she finally decided to become serious about her stories she joined Romance Writers of Australia, found her wonderful critique group and hasn’t looked back.

When Claire’s not reading or writing she can be found in the garden attempting to grow vegetables, or racing around a vintage motocross track. If she can convince anyone to play with her, she also enjoys cards and board games.
Claire lives in Western Australia, just south of Perth with her husband, who loves even her most annoying quirks, and her two grubby, but adorable Australian bulldogs.

~REVIEW~
Men have always posed bad territory for Roxy after the haunting departure of her father nineteen years ago. In her debut novel Aleya Michelle creates a rarity in the books I have read a least evolving to describe the ins and outs of using drugs and alcohol as an escape. I really enjoyed reading Breaking my Heart, I couldn’t put it down in the vest to continue to see what’s next. The main characters of Roxy and Kade had me invested till the very conclusion of the first book in the series.

Roxy is a living the partying life, single and 24 with a steady job and a future she is happy with. Kade, a sexy aspiring surfer comes in and creates waves to the ripple of everything Roxy thought she ever wanted. I found the connection suitable and loving especially considering the novel is set in Sydney, Australia. Roxy and Cade meet a club and from there forth, Roxy starts to believe the notion and idea’s of men she has in her head may not be all true. It is relatable, to many who have got hurt in the past and who have used various degrees on danger to find an escape.

I loved the debut from Aleya Michelle, I found it believable and spoke to a wide range of raw emotions. I definitely find myself invested in what is coming next, this is the first book in the series and doesn’t have a HEA, so I am intrigued to read Book 2 that’s’ for sure. The chemistry and sexy surfer of Kade had me hooked to continue reading into Roxy and Kade’s world. I will definitely be reading book 2.

review

Looks can be deceiving. Love can ignite. Picture Perfect by Elisabeth Grace was a fun, sexy and pleasurable novel that explored the relationship of Skye- Emmy’s best friend from Rumour Has It and Landon Steele, a sexy irresistible single lad who happens to be her boss. Landon and Skye’s chemistry was off the charts from the get go, the resistances to romance, to passion and to the inter-work relationship was interesting. Skye is smart, strong and the daughter of a soon-to-be senator father.

With ever fault or line drawn in the sand there was passion and questions as to whether what the heart wants is worth the sacrifice. Living in the limelight isn’t something easy and I really loved how Elisabeth Grace in both her novels explored to different sets of “celebrity personas” if you will. The chemistry between Landon and Skye was intense, consuming and uncontrollable. Keeping this professional and not letting feelings get involved is the trick to the trade that I loved about Landon and Skye’s relationship.

Overall, it was charming, sexy and lovely novel that had romance and heart with passion and the line between professional and unprofessional examined. I really enjoyed reading it and I rated it a 4 Lit-Love, as it was sexy, fun and was a fab read in the Limelight Series by Elisabeth Grace.

EXCERPT  – Landon’s POV

It was an unseasonably warm day for December in L.A. so the pool deck was busy. I was relaxing on the chaise inside the cabana after giving my drink order to the waiter when I saw Skye making her way across the pool deck. She had on a pair of sunglasses and a floral cover-up with long, billowing sleeves. When she reached the cabana, she smiled wide and dropped her beach bag onto the coffee table in the center.

“The waiter just left. I didn’t order for you because I wasn’t sure what you’d want,” I said.

“I think I’m going to take a dip in the pool. Do you mind ordering me an iced tea when the waiter comes back?”

“Sure thing.”

She slid off her sandals and then proceeded to pull her cover-up off over her head.

I was in trouble.

I was in so much fucking trouble if I thought there was any way I might get through this trip sleeping only a few rooms away from her when she looked like that.

Her swimsuit was a gold one-piece that had a slit all the way down to her belly button and a belt around the waist. I’d been imagining what she’d look like completely naked since I’d first seen her. This swimsuit was giving me a pretty good idea, but apparently my imagination hadn’t been doing her justice.

She smiled at me before heading over to the pool and diving in. It was clear she had no idea the effect seeing her in that tiny bit of fabric had on me. That or she hid it well. Now I’d be trying to hide the wood I’d no doubt be sporting all afternoon.

The waiter returned and I ordered Skye’s drink. A few minutes later, he dropped it off just as Skye was returning to the cabana. He did a double-take as she came up behind him. I couldn’t blame him but it still fueled my competitive nature, seeing another man appreciate her rocking body. Even if she wasn’t mine.

I tipped him a couple of dollars and said, “We’re good for a while. Thanks.” Skye smiled her megawatt, draw-every-man-to-her-within-twenty-feet smile as he passed by her to leave. Fuck me, but I loved that smile. “How was the water?” I asked.

She grabbed a towel off one of the tables and began to dry herself off. “Warmer than I thought it’d be. We got lucky it’s such a nice day out today.”

“The warmers help, too,” I said, motioning to the heater in the roof of the cabana.

“There is that.” She laughed, her entire face lighting up.

She really was breathtaking…and pure…full of light. When I was with her, I forgot about the pressures of growing my business and my strained relationship with my father—everything else just faded into the background and I was just here with her…in the present. And none of the other shit mattered.

When she was done rubbing that damn towel over every inch of her porcelain skin, she came to sit beside me on the couch and grabbed her drink off the table. I watched as she took the straw between her lips. This had to be some form of foreplay torture. First the swimsuit, then rubbing herself down, and now this? As she sucked the liquid down, I began to get hard just thinking about what those lips would look like wrapped around the end of my cock.

I couldn’t watch her a second longer. I pulled the drink away from her mouth and she gave me a quizzical look. “We need to talk.”

*BOOK REVIEW* Best Kind of Broken- Chelsea Fine

BEST-KIND-OF-BROKEN-Cover

synopsis

The one that got away is living across the hall…

Pixie and Levi haven’t spoken in nearly a year when they find themselves working-and living-at the same hotel in the middle of nowhere. Once upon a time, they were childhood friends. But that was before everything went to hell. And now things are… painful.

All they want to do is avoid each other, and their past, for as long as possible. But now that they’re forced to share a bathroom, and therefore a shower, keeping their distance from one another becomes less difficult than keeping their hands off each other. Because despite everything that happened before, this isn’t the kind of chemistry that it’s easy to resist. Welcome to the hallway of awkward tension and sexual frustration, folks. Get comfy. It’s going to be a long summer…

review

Finding a new author I haven’t heard of before is always fun. The excitement of new stories and new characters to emerge yourself in is what I love. The draw of the cover and synopsis from Best Kind of Broken by Chelsea Fine intrigued me and I was delighted to read it. During summer break we meet Pixie and Levi. Pixie, art student extraordinaire and Levi former best friend and handy man collide in a mash of love, lust and trust within the pages. I for some part felt like the story was a little disjointed but as the narrative developed I fell in love with the characters.

On Summer Break, Pixie visits her aunts inn and ends up sharing more than just the inn’s wing but also the bathroom. It was such a light and romantic story, the edge of will they or won’t they. Will feelings be shared or won’t they played out within the pages. Pixie and Levi’s relationship is interesting as they hadn’t spoken in a long time and the connection of past and present sends sexual tension through the roof which I really enjoyed.

I really did enjoy the book, it was light, and showed a form of creativity. It was down to earth with sweet romantic moments, deep narrative and a dual point of view that was so much fun to read. Overall, I liked it. The pace of the book is a little slow so if you like fast paced books this isn’t for you. The characters were easy to relate to and the charming atmosphere of the inn left my heart happy after reading. It’s not a steamy read. It is just sweet and pure. Like honey. It was an enjoyable read and would recommend it for NA and YA fans.

Secrets you don’t want to know or be involved in. How do you think they got this way in the first place? It’s best to follow your head and stay as far away from them as possible.

Trust me when I say this: Guys like Jon Priestly are nothing but trouble.

Ivy McAllister had it all. Perfect boyfriend. Perfect life. Perfect future. Or so they tell her. Because one night, on a dark country road, a fiery crash changed everything…and Ivy can’t remember what happened.

Now, two years later, at a new college far from home, she tries to regain control of her life, but her plans don’t include a tattooed, motorcycle-riding, indie music-obsessed guy with his own sorority girl fan club.

Ivy shouldn’t be attracted to Jon. They’re wrong for each other in every possible way. Yet as they spend time together, something about him—everything about him—feels so right.

Book Review
Love can be giving into chance and falling for what might be dangerous but also pure and honest. Fall into Forever by Beth Hyland was such an amazing read. It dealt with some strong issues of hurt and pain but also of strength and happiness.
Two years after a horrible accident that left her with no recollection and a dead boyfriend Ivy has been through a lot, tainted by torture and pain she transfers schools.
With a lack of memories and shyness to devolve into anything in the past she brings so much heart to a heart-warming narrative. I loved the narrative because it was fun and a really well written piece. After Ivy was dragged to “The White House” frat party, she meets hunk Jon Priestly in a chance encounter. Drool. He sounds so swoon worthy and irresistible.

There is a draw between Ivy and Jon which I loved. Connection between the two main characters is important and I absolutely loved how although they have their own demons they bring out the best in each other coincidentally.
I loved this book, it was fun and romantic. I would like to have seen though more development in their relationship before skipping from friends to boyfriend/girlfriend. Narratives that do that are great, but I would have loved to see a little more interaction within.
Overall, I absolutely loved the narrative, it told a story about heart-felt love and moving forward with life. The romance scenes were really lovely and It was poetic to see characters grow and develop as Ivy and Jon did. I rated a 4-Lit Love, it was fitting to passion, love and overall an amazing read.

REVIEW:

Poets write to be heard, Authors write to speak for those who can’t. In the incandescent rain of all the books that flow through my iPad, this review was probably the most emotional to write. Today’s review is on Reclaiming the Sand by A Meredith Walters.

Modeling a story that has never been told in this caliber. A bully. A victim. Two hearts. Two stories. In the poetically driven heart rendering book Reclaiming the Sand the emotional of the two characters don’t match words to a page. The flawless writing of such an emotional story brought me to tears. Such as a kind of novel that breaks through boundaries Reclaiming the Sand demonstrated a raw, sensitive and exposed story of Flynn, a male who grows up with Asperger’s. A tormentor, a friend or a lover Ellie comes into his life. This friendship that is created really did shed such bare and pointed passion.

The narrative guides past and present as Walters describes in-depth a pain, a life, a connection that cannot be faked. The narrative relates to not only the aspect of Asperger’s and the reality of people are treated, but also to the thin line between Bully and Victim. A ridiculous amount of kids get bullied at school, Walters through Ellie’s background and Flynn’s moving forward. The heartbreak and warmth are uncanny in a striped, raw, and flawless rendition of love, passion and two characters’ whose connection is more than the words that we speak every day. This book was a BEYOND Lit-Love star, because It hit chords of pain and suffering but also strung to remind us that trust, friendship and believing in yourself is important.

REVIEW

If I’m honest, I find books need to speak to an audience. After reading ‘Crazy Maybe’ by A.D Justice, I am kind of speechless.

Characters like Andi, are why I read but also why I write. How do you describe a pivotal strong character that stands out? A.D Justice hit the hammer on the nail with the portrayal of such an emotionally charged and powerful narrative. Andi and Luke’s story reads more than just words on the page. It is powerful, the emotion is touching and the words are uncannily high-powered. The chord that struck me through reading Crazy Maybe was that there was fight and power in the story of how the foster system treats a person. Although I found some of the narrative to be unrealistic, it was relatable in its own kind.

What drew me to continue reading was the vigorous voice of the writer and the characters narrative. Andi and Luke both draw so much power in the narrative, of the will to fight, to be loved, to survive. Love takes it’s course and sometimes you don’t have control over that. I found that reading through, there were moments I would cry for Andi and there were moments between Andi, Luke and the other characters that made me laugh. My favourite part about reading this book was the faith and trust that Andi and Luke put in each other. It was heart felt, kind, supportive and a testament to good writing by A.D Justice. The sad scenes were written with emotion, but also contempt to allow the reader to understand cases that do happen similar to the narrative. Overall, a powerfully pivotal narrative that brings together a strong female character with an ever so romantic male lead with passion and heart. What is made is magic, what is spoken is raw and what is left is love.

ANDI

Our usual table is inhabited by the usual suspects – Shane, Will, Brandon and of course, Luke. He has his back to me and doesn’t know I’m here yet. So I walk to the DJ booth and tell him to queue up a song for me. I had a few drinks at the pub we just left, I’m pissed and I’m really fucking hurt, so I’m going to take it out on the stage. The song, Just A Fool, is actually a duet between Christina Aguilera and Blake Shelton, but tonight I’m singing it solo. And I’m singing it with every bit of emotion I have bubbling just below the surface of my cool façade.

The lyrics are perfect for me right now. I obviously feel like a fool because I can’t get over him and I can’t let him go, but I know I should. I feel like I’m weak for wanting him to make this all up to me. For even thinking I could forgive him if he would just do something to take this pain away. Love feels like a cruel joke and no one has hurt me in the way that he has. I just want to forget about love and about him, but somehow he’s in every thought I have and every move I make.

I leave the stage and a friend from the gym I haven’t seen in a while stops me and asks me to dance with him. Another slow song is playing so I step into his embrace and we take the opportunity to catch up. He asks how I’m holding up, knowing how bad my life sucks right now, and I give him a non-committal shrug of my shoulders. Christina taps on my arm and her gaze suddenly shifts and I turn to see what she’s looking at.

Oh. It’s Luke and he is charging forward like a bull, hell-bent on his destination. Which happens to be me at the moment.

“Andi,” he barks at me.

“Yes,” I reply smugly.

I watch intently as he grits his teeth and clenches and flexes his hands. His anger is barely contained and he’s working hard at restraining himself. I know I’m not helping it but I’m no more in the mood to be fucked with right now than he is.

“I need you to come with me,” he finally says.

“No.”

He nods his head, seemingly understandingly, until I realize that I read him completely wrong. He just decided he wasn’t going to argue with me. In the typical method of the men in my life, he picks me up with ease, throws me over his shoulder, and charges back to the front door. People watch with amused expressions as I scream obscenities at him like a lunatic until he reaches the door. Then I realize we’re going outside and there may be cameras that catch me actually acting like a lunatic so I stop.

“Luke – do not walk out that door with me over your shoulder. I’m in the news enough as it is. I don’t need to add any more to it,” I say in my sternest voice possible. This stops him in his tracks and I know he hears the words I didn’t say – thanks to your family.

He puts me down but doesn’t let go of me. “Then walk with me like a normal person would.”

I sigh heavily, not hiding my dislike of his demand, and respond with the typical pissed-off female response. “Fine.”

*BOOK REVIEW* Better- Carey Heywood

Title: Better
Author: Carey Heywood
 Release Date: February 17, 2014

** inspired by actual events **

Aubrey is embarking on a bucket list trip around the world, the last wish of her Aunt Ally. It was supposed to be the trip Ally would take when she got better. Now it’s just a chance for Aubrey to say goodbye.
Adam escapes in his solo trips overseas, working just enough to fund the next one. When the opportunity to circle the globe falls in his lap he can’t refuse. The only catch, he won’t be traveling alone this time.Unable to hide from each other Adam’s overprotective nature thwarts Aubrey’s desire to find her own way. Can they move past initial assumptions to find something better?
The raw uncanny emotions that streamed seemingly out of the page with Better by Carey Heywood left me feeling every emotion from a to z. The bucket list left by her dearly departed aunty leaves mystery and hope for a young and loving Aubrey. The trip of a life time doesn’t come without a companion by the name of Adam.
If I could list reasons A to Z as to why you should pick up this book and read it I would. All I can really describe without shedding a tear whilst writing, is that it is a tear-jerking; emotionally pivotal and loving romance that deviates how to move forward when you lose someone you love and how to create memories that show that you haven’t forgotten a loved one but you also haven’t let life get away from you. Phenomenal is a word that gets thrown around quiet a lot when I find a book I have so much admiration for. The tug-a-war my heart went through reading this book was emotional and gifting.
Better is about self discovery and dealing with a lost love one, which I think is what I related to so much. The story is filled with so much love and unexpected journeys.

The chemistry between Aubrey and Adam from the beginning was amazing. Adam is the typical stand-off player, but as they develop throughout the novel there was a light shone into an unexpected love that although started off on the wrong foot, turns into passion. I loved how Carey created Adam as a photographer and with a witty streak. The characters worked both emotionally and physically to create bonds and share memories, which demonstrates real life to a T.

Overall, the journey that Adam and Aubrey intertwine through demonstrates strong characters and a pivotal narrative that you will shed a tear to. It showed so much courage and love to create and write a novel like this. Carey did an amazing job at atmospherically inhabiting what so many have endured in real life, and demonstrated it within the characters. The importance of self discovery and learning to let go. Aubrey and Adams story is a tale of finding love and accepting love. I rated Better a 5-Lit Love, as it was so emotional and beautifully written. I kept a tissue on hand, and you may need one too.
