Nobody ever cares for second place.

Talented public relations associate, Annie Scott, knows second place well. She has never been anyone’s priority and is sick of wallowing in self pity, sick of being an option. In a snap decision, she flees her hometown of Nashville for the unknown shores of Sydney, Australia. There she can be whoever she wants to be. Perhaps, the enforced solitude will give her back her identity and kickstart a new path in life.

Professional surfer, Cam Hart, is home on leave from the Pro Tour, and in desperate need of some rest, relaxation and maybe, a little female company. All extremely achievable at his home in Bronte, Sydney. There will be women willing and waiting for him, of that he has no doubt. He’s never been a relationships kind of guy, and after his embarrassing defeat for the recent World Title, the idea of losing himself in between the sheets for some no-strings fun, definitely has appeal.

Fate throws Cam and Annie in each other’s path. Their attraction to each other is immediate. Cam believes he has found the perfect girl to distract him for a few weeks, while Annie is ready to throw caution to the wind and dive into a holiday romance. The two drifting souls soon realise that their chemistry and passion is more than they bargained for.

Cam has never wanted to entrust his heart to anyone again. But, with Annie, he sees that he may indeed want a future, a change from his impulsive and wild ways. Could Cam actually be capable of such change? Should Annie consider Cam to be more than a summer fling, or will she be bound by her insecurities and not believe him worth the risk? Will she return to her hometown, the same as she left it: alone.

add-to-goodreads-button31Synopsis

All Keegan wanted was a roommate who was quiet, minded their own business, and paid for part of the rent. Instead, she got Camden Brooks.

Camden, with his sinful body, sharp tongue, and the inability to stay out of Keegan’s personal business, couldn’t seem to curb his interest in the new girl who wouldn’t put up with his domineering ways.

Feelings were running rampant, sexual tension was thick, and both were struggling to let go of control.

To some people, getting a roommate simply meant living with another person. But to both Camden and Keegan it was a curveball that neither was prepared to swing at.

Excerpt

Standing up I began pacing. This was going too far. I could handle nice gestures, but coming into my room, and giving me things that I didn’t ask for was taking it too far. I wanted it out. I wanted it all out.

Now!

Marching downstairs, I was a girl on a mission. When I reached the bottom step, Camden turned around to look at me. Sure enough, there was that smug, satisfied little grin. I bet he was expecting a thank you for his diluted sense of generosity. Oh boy, was he in for a treat. I smiled back at him, but I had a feeling it didn’t look quite right. I was certain I had a crazed look in my eyes, and at this point, I didn’t care. My crazy was about to be hanging out all over the place. Now where in the hell was what it? My eyes drifted to the corner of the dining room. Up against the wall was the Louisville Slugger, just what I was looking for. I casually walked over to it and picked it up. I knew Camden’s eyes were tracking me. The grin on his mouth had slipped and now he just looked confused. I held the bat in my hand, testing its weight and deciphering my next move.

“What are you doing?” Cam asked.

I looked up at him, sending daggers at him through my eyes. “Practicing my swing.”

His confusion deepened. When I saw his eyebrows raise, I knew realization hit him. “Now Keegan, don’t go doing something you’re going to regret.”

The laugh that came from my mouth was pure evil. It sounded bizarre, even to me. “Oh Camden, I’m not going to regret this. I’m going to enjoy it very much.” With that I turned on my heels raced up the stairs. But not before heard him say “shit” and hurdle the couch coming after me.

I made it up to my room before he did. I took a brief moment to breathe in through my nose and back out through my mouth. I was centering myself for my grand swing. Standing before the beautiful bed he had no business buying me, I brought the bat up high and was about to bring it down as hard as I could, when it stopped mid air. Twisting my head around, I locked eyes with wild deep brown ones.

“Don’t you dare.” He growled, inches from my face.

review

I was sold at cupcakes. I am a huge fan of Addison Moore and was so excited for the third book in the 3:AM Kisses series.  Sugar Kisses introduces Roxy and Cole Brighton narrative. We have known Cole from the very beginning and I was super excited to read a narrative of passion and a loveable sweetness.

“Shut Up and Kiss me” >Roxy to Cole – Sugar Kisses

The passion that ignites through Roxy and Cole’s narrative is like put gasoline to a fire, it explodes and the rippling feelings are felt everywhere. The spitfire of Roxy always having her guard up and Cole’s shall I say sex appeal makes it all the more enticing and loveable to read. Sugar Kisses brings warmth to the narrative of a tale of two roommates who realise their connection.

In the third book of series, this is possibly my favourite actually don’t get me wrong I love Baya and Bryson and they will always be amazing, but boy did Roxy and Cole create an epic tale of good romance. I loved the narrative, we still had the reappearance of Baya, Holt and some of the others from the earlier novels but I loved the connection that Roxy and Cole have. It’s more than a romance, it’s about fighting for love, fighting for yourself and not giving in.

The light heart of Sugar Kisses makes such a good read. The relationship’s created and developed are like glitter in a jar, all sparkly and soft. I love this one quote

“I had a mini orgasm just looking at you. I thought who the hell does this guy think he is looking so damn hot? You ruined me right then.” >Roxy to Cole- Sugar Kisses.

As a lover of baking cupcakes, this narrative was like putty in my hand. It is light hearted, emotional and just an astounding in the way it grips you to read. I rated Sugar Kisses at 5 Lit-Love because you had me at Cupcakes, you sold me at Cole.

BOOK REVIEW: Bespelled by Dani Kristoff

Today’s book review is an amazing read from Dani Kristoff an Australian author. Bespelled is Dani’s debut novel and it is a great paranormal romance. Synopsis and Review below.

SYNOPSIS:

This isn’t your mum’s Bewitched19193568

Elena Denholm is a mild-mannered half witch. As a favour to her cousin, she agrees to meet with top Sydney lawyer, Jake Royston, to negotiate a property deal. Sparks fly immediately, but before they can even take a sip of wine, let alone explore where the sizzle might go, Jake is hit by a love spell and is helpless against his feelings for Elena.

Jake may be at her mercy, but Elena is keeping her hands off — exploiting humans is a no-no. But Jake’s good looks and powers of persuasion are breaking down her resolve, and Elena knows she must do something fast.

Desperate to set things right before her resolve crumbles, Elena begins a frantic search to find the witch or warlock who hexed Jake and return him to his right mind, even if it means breaking her own heart…

REVIEW:

The enchanting world of witches, magic and a spell comes to life in Dani Kristoff’s latest book ‘ Bespelled.’ In my first ever read of witches and the power magic and spells I loved the imagination of profound love and a spell that can bring together to people in the narrative.

The romance between Elena and Jake made for a great narrative. The passion ignited and felt through out of the book was magical. I enjoyed the path of trying to do what is right but also trying to let your feelings speak louder than words. The character Elena reminded me about how sometimes you have a let your feelings guide you and let your guard down. In the narrative, I didn’t see a few of the twists that the author shone our way, but they were great surprises in a terrific read.

I loved the premise of this tale as well, Jake is a big shot lawyer falling under a spell.  I think it was a light paranormal romance with flavour added through the characters. I was able to coast through reading this. The only critique I would make is that the book covers only a few days with a huge amount of content. I believe it’s all what was wrapped up in the story of a magical tale but at times I did feel like at the end of Chapter 11 or 12, that it could have been drawn out over more days.

I’m usually not a fan of magical and mythical tales but I really did enjoy the relationship that the characters had together. It wasn’t based on the spell, but was further to the connection that they had when they met. Dani is an Australian author and her debut novel is definitely a magical read and a truly wonderful tale of love and romance.

Overall, it was a great paranormal romance book with the absolutely charming Jake and the well aware Elena. Together they create a magical spell more than ingredients mixed together.  My rating for this book is 4/5.

Book Review: Storm Shells – G.J Walker-Smith

Hi lovelies,

The final installment in Adam and Charli’s magical tale has arrived. Don’t freak out, we already know Alex and Ryan will have stories of there own in future books.

I first want to say a huge thank you to the lovely author of Storm Shells and the Wishes trilogy GJ Walker-Smith because she is just amazing and responds to most of her fans questions and messages.

So lets jump right to it; Storm Shells is Book #3 of the Wishes Series and it enchants us from where we left of at the end of ‘Second Hearts.’17820485

A rule of thumb when it comes to wishes, if you save them all up you can be a millionaire at the end. The duo narrative ignites flames, breaks your heart, brings magic and you can hear the waves crash in Piper’s Cove all over again. GJ has done it again with the enticement to follow through in the last book of Adam and Charli’s tale. I am sure I am not the only one who finished the book with joy, yet with an overall feeling that something great has just been finalized within the writing of the page.

Charli returns to Piper’s Cove, husband-less but as powerful and strong minded as ever. Adam is never far from Charli’s heart, even if it confuses the life out of those who love her. A change of events throws Adam and Charli into making some hard decisions when it comes to life, and the future. The duo of Charli and Adam, is what makes whole heartily a beautiful serenade to love, life and what you will give up for the ones you love.

You will cry, you will smile, you will find new alliances that you never thought would happen.. all together it is a treasure like so many wishes are. Treasure the one’s you love like Charli and her wishes, can can either save them up or spend them. Belief in love, sacrifice and wishes has influenced a great deal of GJ’s work its all about growing and learning what is important to you.

Old Friends will return, new alliances will appear, Alex will chop wood. Storm Shell’s displays the importance of wishes and the importance of being who you are. I absolutely loved every single character in this book. I don’t think I could pick a favourite because it would be like trying to pick a wish which is very hard.

I thought I would share one of favourite quote from the novel and funny enough Ryan said it. “So what’s the plan for winning her back? It better involve buckets of glitter and butterfly dust or you’re screwed.” I love Ryan, is is probably one of my favourite characters behind Adam and Charli. This quote is just magical and essence of glitter and butterfly dust makes me smile.

I would highly recommend reading the novella (2.5) of the series if you haven’t already called ‘Sand Jewels’ which shows Alex and Gabrielle’s journey, before Adam arrives. I am excited for the next releases of Ryan’s story and Alex’s story. Seeing magic is about seeing what doesn’t appear straight away; if you freeze two photographs magic is noticing the difference in time.

Overall. I loved it, the romance; the sacrifice; the return of old alliances and the creation of new ones creates a lovely magical novel in the concluding Adam and Charli’s magical tale.
