REVIEW

Will you devote your life to someone unconditionally if you have been hurt in the past?

Unconditional by the lovely Melody Grace is the third standard novel in a series of enchanting tales located in Beachwood Bay. The third novel introduces passion, hurt, love and regret within the lives of Carina and Garrett. The exquisite narrative flows pure emotion in character fueled romance and pain from the past.

The character’s established accepting and courageous love as they developed a comforting and warm relationship allowing their hearts to open. The pull that I felt towards Carina and Garrett was similar to the first two novels in the series as both characters want to be loved but are also heartbroken by pained choices and events that have happened in the past. I love Melody and her style of writing it digs deep into emotional situations, relenting how relationships can grow and how they are important. There are twists and turns with ex’s and relationships, but overall the gentle unspoken words that created the bond between Carina and Garrett speak louder to the reader.

Overall, Melody has shone another star into the galaxy of a million with the lavishing and emotionally moving characters of Garrett and Carina. Garrett has a heart of a lion and the emotions he displayed were like wildfire to my heart. Carina was a character that developed and was explained as to her grief and pain with Juliet her sister. The incandescent writing of Melody Grace has yet again prevailed in an emotional and powerful reading. I rated Unconditional a 5- Lit Love because I could re-read it and the characters of Carina and Garret gave me so much drive to continue reading till the very end.

INTERVIEW

1. Congratulations on the 3rd standard novel in the series and 6th in the series. What was it like coming into the sixth project and writing about Garrett and Carina?

It was exciting, and nerve-wracking too! I’ve been so fortunate that people fell in love with Beachwood Bay the way I have, but there’s an added pressure too now to write love stories that live up to the first books. But I’ve been waiting to tell this story for a while now, so it was great to revisit the characters and show the side to them readers had never seen before.

2.  It is such a beautiful story that you told between Garrett and Carina. Did you feel the passion between the characters as you wrote?  Was there drive to create two characters that both had issues like in the previous novels?

Passion… yes, definitely! I love writing scenes where the sparks fly, and Garrett and Carina surprised me with their chemistry. They have such a great banter and dynamic, and part of that comes from both being a little older than the other characters. They’ve experienced things before, and know what they like 😉

As for issues… I think everyone has issues in their own way. We all have a past, and things that have hurt us before, so it’s natural that Carina and Garrett both have things they need to overcome in order to find happiness together.

3.  Juliet and Carina didn’t have the best relationship developing from the first books. Did you feel like you had to explore Carina’s side of the story or was it fun writing a more vulnerable side to Carina than what readers expected?

Writing Unbroken, Carina was pretty much just a shallow bitch (to quote her sister!), but her character stayed with me.  Nobody is simply what they appear to be on the surface, especially people who try so hard to appear perfect and polished, and I wondered who the real Carina was, hiding underneath the pretty clothes and expensive makeup. She and Juliet both grew out of the same dysfunctional family, and I wanted to explore that – how Carina had internalized her childhood and become obsessed with creating the picture-perfect family, even as it took her further away from her true self. Watching that crumble, and trying to start again, Carina finds herself for the first time.

4.  What are your next plans for 2014? Do you plan on writing any more in the Beachwood Bay series?

Yes! I love this series, and I’ve got at least a couple more planned this year. I’m bringing some fresh blood to town with a new family… the first of whom, Dex Callahan, we’ll meet in UNINHIBITED, coming in July. It might be my sexiest yet!

5.  A lot of writers become authors by readings and falling in love with the notion of creating a world that can impact on a reader’s life. Did you always set out to be a writer and create the stories that you tell for the readers?

Absolutely. I loved to read as a kid, escaping to a hundred different lives, and it’s wonderful to be doing it myself now, and passing on that love to other readers.

6.  Lastly, if there is one piece of advice you could give an inspiring author what would it be?

Believe in yourself. It’s easy to become discouraged, there’s so much rejection around, but if you believe in your work and try to improve your craft, you’ll get there in the end!

*COVER REVEAL* Love Unclaimed – Jennifer Benson

 Anticipated Release Day: April 14th

 Audree Edwards
has loved Gavin Montgomery since she was a little girl, but her older brother
Clint made it clear that Audree was off limits. Audree however, wasn’t taking
no for an answer and made it clear to Gavin she wanted him.

Gavin, not having the best family life, bolted as soon as he could after high
school. Audree knew she couldn’t have all of Gavin and settled for the bit of
him she could hold on to. When they are both finally ready to admit they want
more, Audree thinks Gavin has done the unthinkable.

Will Gavin be able to tell Audree he’s ready to pursue a future?

Will Audree see the truth about Gavin before it is too late?

Will Audree and Gavin finally give in tell each other how they feel and what
they want?

“So are we going to talk
about what happened or are we going to go on pretending we didn’t have sex,
again?” Audree asked, walking up behind Gavin who was brushing down his horse.
It looked like he had been out riding already this morning.

“Audree, you climbed
into my bed,” he huffed. “I was sleeping.”
“You were dreaming about
me. You were touching yourself while you were dreaming about me.” She blocked
his path to move around the horse.
“So that gives you the
right to come into my room and fuck me? What if I did that to you?”
“I’ll leave my door
open,” she snapped.
“Ugh, Audree. I told you
that night that we couldn’t happen, that it would only be that night.”
“Then why didn’t you
stop me from fucking you! You are a big strong man. You could have picked me up
and moved me. You’ve done it before. You could have pushed me away. You could
have told me to stop,” she stomped. “But you didn’t, because you wanted it as
much as I did. You want me, Gavin, but you won’t take me. I have made a
complete ass out of myself for years. I have thrown myself at you because I
feel what is between us. I want to be with you. I want to be in your arms, in
your bed, in your fucking heart.” She refused to let the tears banging against
her lids fall in front of him.
“I know you have been
with other women, but I want to be yours. I want you to be mine. I am standing
here before you making the biggest fool of myself; telling you that all you
have to do is say the word. Tell me I’m yours and you have me.”
“Audree, I can’t!
I won’t…,” he barked harshly.
“You can’t. You won’t. Well, fuck you, Gavin Montgomery. Next time
you see me I might not be available and I sure as hell won’t be climbing into
your bed again. So you enjoy those dreams about me and you remember the feel of
my body on top of you, underneath you and in front of you. Remember how you
feel being inside of me, because it can’t
and won’t happen again!” She stormed
out of the barn and heard the clanging of metal hitting the barn wall, but
refused to turn back to him. This time it wasn’t him leaving without a word;
she was the one leaving. She called Ruby to tell her she was heading back to
school, and if she wanted a ride, she needed to be ready in twenty minutes.

Jennifer is a devoted wife and mother to two rambunctious children that
love keeping her on her toes. Her “real” job as a paralegal occupies
the time she would rather be using to write, read, chat with her many author
and blogger friends, or hang out with her family watching movies. Any free
moment she has is devoted to helping spread the word for her indie author
friends who lovingly call her ‘the ninja’ or writing her newest story.

Jennifer has been writing since she was young. She has always been an avid
reader. She always has her nose in a book and carries her Kindle everywhere.
Now she plans to follow her dream and be on the other side of the pages and
share her passion for writing with readers.

BOOK REVIEW: Bespelled by Dani Kristoff

Today’s book review is an amazing read from Dani Kristoff an Australian author. Bespelled is Dani’s debut novel and it is a great paranormal romance. Synopsis and Review below.

SYNOPSIS:

This isn’t your mum’s Bewitched19193568

Elena Denholm is a mild-mannered half witch. As a favour to her cousin, she agrees to meet with top Sydney lawyer, Jake Royston, to negotiate a property deal. Sparks fly immediately, but before they can even take a sip of wine, let alone explore where the sizzle might go, Jake is hit by a love spell and is helpless against his feelings for Elena.

Jake may be at her mercy, but Elena is keeping her hands off — exploiting humans is a no-no. But Jake’s good looks and powers of persuasion are breaking down her resolve, and Elena knows she must do something fast.

Desperate to set things right before her resolve crumbles, Elena begins a frantic search to find the witch or warlock who hexed Jake and return him to his right mind, even if it means breaking her own heart…

REVIEW:

The enchanting world of witches, magic and a spell comes to life in Dani Kristoff’s latest book ‘ Bespelled.’ In my first ever read of witches and the power magic and spells I loved the imagination of profound love and a spell that can bring together to people in the narrative.

The romance between Elena and Jake made for a great narrative. The passion ignited and felt through out of the book was magical. I enjoyed the path of trying to do what is right but also trying to let your feelings speak louder than words. The character Elena reminded me about how sometimes you have a let your feelings guide you and let your guard down. In the narrative, I didn’t see a few of the twists that the author shone our way, but they were great surprises in a terrific read.

I loved the premise of this tale as well, Jake is a big shot lawyer falling under a spell.  I think it was a light paranormal romance with flavour added through the characters. I was able to coast through reading this. The only critique I would make is that the book covers only a few days with a huge amount of content. I believe it’s all what was wrapped up in the story of a magical tale but at times I did feel like at the end of Chapter 11 or 12, that it could have been drawn out over more days.

I’m usually not a fan of magical and mythical tales but I really did enjoy the relationship that the characters had together. It wasn’t based on the spell, but was further to the connection that they had when they met. Dani is an Australian author and her debut novel is definitely a magical read and a truly wonderful tale of love and romance.

Overall, it was a great paranormal romance book with the absolutely charming Jake and the well aware Elena. Together they create a magical spell more than ingredients mixed together.  My rating for this book is 4/5.

Book Review: Storm Shells – G.J Walker-Smith

Hi lovelies,

The final installment in Adam and Charli’s magical tale has arrived. Don’t freak out, we already know Alex and Ryan will have stories of there own in future books.

I first want to say a huge thank you to the lovely author of Storm Shells and the Wishes trilogy GJ Walker-Smith because she is just amazing and responds to most of her fans questions and messages.

So lets jump right to it; Storm Shells is Book #3 of the Wishes Series and it enchants us from where we left of at the end of ‘Second Hearts.’17820485

A rule of thumb when it comes to wishes, if you save them all up you can be a millionaire at the end. The duo narrative ignites flames, breaks your heart, brings magic and you can hear the waves crash in Piper’s Cove all over again. GJ has done it again with the enticement to follow through in the last book of Adam and Charli’s tale. I am sure I am not the only one who finished the book with joy, yet with an overall feeling that something great has just been finalized within the writing of the page.

Charli returns to Piper’s Cove, husband-less but as powerful and strong minded as ever. Adam is never far from Charli’s heart, even if it confuses the life out of those who love her. A change of events throws Adam and Charli into making some hard decisions when it comes to life, and the future. The duo of Charli and Adam, is what makes whole heartily a beautiful serenade to love, life and what you will give up for the ones you love.

You will cry, you will smile, you will find new alliances that you never thought would happen.. all together it is a treasure like so many wishes are. Treasure the one’s you love like Charli and her wishes, can can either save them up or spend them. Belief in love, sacrifice and wishes has influenced a great deal of GJ’s work its all about growing and learning what is important to you.

Old Friends will return, new alliances will appear, Alex will chop wood. Storm Shell’s displays the importance of wishes and the importance of being who you are. I absolutely loved every single character in this book. I don’t think I could pick a favourite because it would be like trying to pick a wish which is very hard.

I thought I would share one of favourite quote from the novel and funny enough Ryan said it. “So what’s the plan for winning her back? It better involve buckets of glitter and butterfly dust or you’re screwed.” I love Ryan, is is probably one of my favourite characters behind Adam and Charli. This quote is just magical and essence of glitter and butterfly dust makes me smile.

I would highly recommend reading the novella (2.5) of the series if you haven’t already called ‘Sand Jewels’ which shows Alex and Gabrielle’s journey, before Adam arrives. I am excited for the next releases of Ryan’s story and Alex’s story. Seeing magic is about seeing what doesn’t appear straight away; if you freeze two photographs magic is noticing the difference in time.

Overall. I loved it, the romance; the sacrifice; the return of old alliances and the creation of new ones creates a lovely magical novel in the concluding Adam and Charli’s magical tale.

Book Review: Come to Me Quietly by A.L. Jackson

Hi lovelies,

A book I loved whilst I was on vacation was Come to Me Quietly by A.L. Jackson. Here is my review and synopsis of the book.

Synopsis:

Aleena Moore is content with her life. She has goals and dreams and an easy smile. She also has a secret 17306969she holds locked inside.

Jared Holt believes he doesn’t deserve to love or be loved. He destroys everything he touches. Haunted by the mistake that shattered his life, he’s fled from the memory of that pain.

Jared doesn’t know why he’s compelled to return, but finds himself drawn back to the place where it all began. The exact place where it ended. When he runs into his childhood best friend, Aleena’s older brother Christopher, he agrees to share Christopher and Aleena’s apartment while he looks for a place of his own.

Aleena is no longer the little girl Jared remembers from his past and evokes feelings in him he never wanted to feel again. Terrified of destroying her, he fights to keep her away. But her touch is something he can’t resist—the touch that sealed his fate.

Their pasts are intertwined and their futures uncertain. The only truths they know are the secrets they whisper in the night.

Review:

Come to Me Quietly brought me to tears but also happiness glistened throughout. I am a soft romantic. I admit it. I deal with it. Don’t judge. I absolutely loved Aleena and Jared’s chemistry. It set butterflies to my stomach. A story that brings together loss, grief, love and forgiveness. I absolutely loved it. This is the first time I had ever read one of A.L. Jackson’s book and I definitely will continue reading.

The connection between Jared and Aly is uncanny. I have read numerous narratives about a best friend falling for the friends sister, this is one by far that is truly amazing. One of the most passionate narratives. I did a lot of thinking about judgement and how perception and how we are viewed effects us. I think the narrative the A.L. Jackson has created brings forward exactly those notions. The narrative touched me because of the connection between Aly and Jared. It seemingly wasn’t just the girl falls for the guy narrative. It touched on the pure and honest connection of being there for someone.

The issue’s that were presented in this narrative, showed so much courage. Forgiveness and self-forgiveness is one thing, I don’t hear a lot about it books, but it was really special to see it in Come to Me Quietly.

This book definitely did put me through a rollercoaster and spat me out at the end feeling like I had been emotionally shaken, I really enjoyed this book and I gave it a 4 out of 5 stars, because there are parts were a little slow. I am excited for the second novel to be released and to read another one of A.L. Jackson’s books.

Book Review: Weak For Him – Lyra Parish

Hi lovelies,

This is my first review on my blog and I couldn’t be more excited. I love romance books, and I love books that make me laugh, cry and everything in-between.  Today my first book review is on Weak for Him. Weak for Him is written by Lyra Parish and is a truly amazing read. I was given this to read by the author for an honest review. So without me yapping any longer..

Synopsis:

Finnley Felton sells sex.Weak+For+Him+Cover
Jennifer Downs is a virgin.
With the help of lady luck, the two meet.

Money. Bright lights. Sex.

Jennifer is made an offer: sell her virginity to the highest bidder and transform into one of Finnley’s girls. But she finds herself weak for him, and doesn’t fully realize what she’s agreed to until it’s too late.

Will she rise to the challenge and play by the rules in a land where money is king and love is prohibited? Or will she lose herself and values in the attempt?

Weak for him is not considered a “dark” read, but does have unlady-like language, adult subject matter, and s-e-x-ual situations. Weak for Him does not have a cliffhanger. There is resolution but the story does continue on.

Review:

Passion ignites and rules are broken. I absolutely loved Weak for Him with main characters Jennifer and Finnley knocking my socks of. Lyra Parish has done an amazing job at bringing to amazingly driven characters and some unforseen choices into a truly magnificent book.

I loved Jennifers and Finnley’s connection from the beginning. Throughout the book, I did wonder what the price would be if you were to sell your virginity? Would Jennifer end up selling her virginity? Did Finnley really abide by a contract no matter what? I absolutely loved Weak for Him because it was juicy and the characters explored issues about what the heart wants. This book is definitely a must read, if you love juicy steamy action as well as a romantic tale that challenges what is right and wrong when it comes to love.

Lyra Parish is amazing, this is Lyra’s debut novel and I absolutely loved it. There were characters in Weak for Him that I loved and others that I didn’t. At times, I wondered which way the narrative was going. I loved that throughout the novel as a reader you were always kept on your toes as to what’s going to happen next.

Weak without Him is the second novel in the series and the release date is April 2nd.

Rating: 4/5

Until next time.
